Doom (2016) is the peak of the franchise and the apex of first-person shooters.
It's a masterpiece and a lesson on how to remake a classic.

The developers are too slow in fixing the bugs.

Hirschfelden's vegetation provides no cover. It's a known bug that affects some people but isn't even on their known issues list.

UPDATE:

Two years later (24 Feb, 2024) a developer responded to this review and told me to give the game another try and see the changes they've implemented.

I reinstalled the game, got into Hirschfelden and realized the vegetation still provides no cover. 🤡

Mississippi Acres Preserve is about alligators.
90% of the time they're swimming.
The main mission teaches you how to kill them while they're swimming: shoot their brain.
However if you kill them while they're swimming their body submerges and you can't reach it.
You're then left with an unharvestable kill.
