The controls can feel a little awkward but aside from that the game is great.
It is a very large open world RPG that is well optimised, especially compared to other big games in the last couple of years.
The combat is satisfying, the movement feels nice and there are lots of things to keep you occupied. It might feel a little overwhelming but like the controls, you'll get used to it.
Graphically, it looks great to me. The quests are decent, the story is decent, the exploration is fun.
Bosses can have some difficultly if you aren't prepared but you also won't just steamroll them, which makes for a good balance.

I purchased this game, excited to play it.
I honestly shouldn't have bothered because to spite how beautiful the game is and how much I enjoy games where choices matter... the game is a horrendous port.

I have a 3080ti, an i9 9900x, 128gb of 3600mhz ram and it is installed on an m.2 nvme drive. I far surpass the requirements of the game.
Yet... I still have constant crashes rendering the game unplayable.
I used DDU and installed my latest drivers cleanly, however the issue still persisted.

Apparently there is a workaround... installing an outdated driver.
However... it isn't my job to make their game work... or yours.
It is their job to provide a stable and functional game to the consumer.

I for one, refuse to downgrade my software just to play it and have requested a refund for these reasons.

If the game works, I have no doubt in my mind that the game would be wonderful... so buyer beware.

Early Access Review
The blend of PvE and PvP is fantastic.
The characters each with their own unique abilities and signature weapons feel great and varied.
The snow storms and the warmth mechanic are a nice addition to add a bit of a survival element without being too hardcore about it.

This is not your typical BR though. While you scavenge weapons and consumables... the main idea is to collect scrap to then slowly build up your customised load-out. Gear is locked to tiers and you have to get to a certain level in the match to be able to craft that tier.
For example, you could choose your Epic signature weapon but it won't be available until late-game and you will have to make do with scavenged weapons in the meantime. Or you choose the uncommon version and get it early on, though it runs the risk of being less powerful compared to others who chose go for that late-game version.

Throw in a research system that covers weapons, consumables and character "perks" and you can really customise and tailor to your own playstyle.
Scavengers really does feel like a breath of fresh air amidst a genre that is beginning to feel stale.

Early Access Review
While the game looks and feels like a reskinned Ark clone, it is different enough to stand on its own two feet.
Dark and Light has a lot of potential and I am excited to see how they branch away from Ark even further.

The game as it stands, has some bugs. But that is expected of an Early Access at roughly 30% completion.
A lot of optimisation needs to be done as well.

Things I do like though is the skill system, the magic (spells and runes) and the mounts.
The "House" management system and levels of access are well done too.
Plenty of small things, that they just do right.
