This game is Into The Breach with a lot more upgrades that give you multiple moves/actions and more direct combat combos that go beyond pushing into stuff (yes, there is still lots of pushing and throwing). My main complaint as a big ITB fan, is how long a playthrough takes. Its missing the building to protect mechanic to there is only urgency in a battle for certain objectives.

If you like Into The Breach and Metal slug, no reason not to check this out.

Really appreciate the friend's pass. This game wasn't really what I expected. Its trying to do a lot and some of the vibe is conflicting for me. So much feels like platformer but the platformer mechanics don't feel good with slow movement, no double jump, basic attacks. So its not a platformer, its a methodical RTS, but then I didn't really enjoy controlling my units either? Gonna try couch co-op and see how that feels.

I bought this because Poncle, but it turns out that isn't a good reason. Next time I will be more careful, you should too Poncle. I didn't like it, literally about 10 seconds of fun. Maybe I didn't get to the interesting part... Unlocked a few levels and weapons, found it extremely boring and I had zero fun mashing my keyboard, the controls are just annoying with how block and special attack work. They should have been better integrated into the keyboard mashing hook if that's all this game is going to be. The gameplay is overly basic so the hook of keyboard mashing being half-hearted at best is disappointing.
Make sure you have a n-key rollover keyboard or attack distances will be limited. Playing with a controller is identical to having a 6-key rollover keyboard or about ~2.5x reduced potential.

It's a Fromsoft roguelike. If you enjoyed slow paced exploration and over-leveling grind in elden ring, this isn't that at all. A bit more simple than elden ring to keep the pace high, but you're elden ring experience will still help you out here. Shrinking circles and hunting for loot makes it feel a lot like a PvE Battle Royale.

Early Access Review
It's a very basic deck builder, easy to learn, obvious meta and mostly auto-played. You don't really need to dynamically change up your meta goals mid-session like more complex games because there are not that many options or time to do so. It's just a game of easily and rapidly understanding meta and applying it, even luck isn't too involved due to the small amount variables. Not a lot of replay but its an entertaining chunk of hours.
Not really $15.. more like $5 but if you wanna grab it during EA for $10 that's up to you.

I enjoy the mindless fun and the visuals take me back to the hours of Realm Grinder.

Overrated. Played the whole thing co-op with my SO and I really don't understand the constant comments of "we feel so together/closer/whatever now". We both found the story to be awful and annoying and the game just get worse and worse every level to the point where the last couple feel wildly rushed. The last couple levels were uninspired, to the point my SO wanted to stop playing. Luckily we finished that level and it turns out THAT WAS THE END OF THE GAME! It come outta nowhere. We were so confused.

Fun tower defense with very active tower management and rogue-like runs.

I enjoy the card game quite a bit but seemingly endless cheesy dialogue and college freshman vibe of club activities and hanging out at the pool really ruin it for me. I keep playing for the combat which seems to pick up a bit about 15 hours into the game. Its sad that around 10 hours in I had only played like ~20 cards but selected ~100 dialogue options. Marvel world ending event story lines do not mesh well at all with hanging out for weeks in a day night cycle dormatory with angsty emo young adults.

I bought this game because of how much I miss playing Vainglory and can't get enough couch coop experiences. It's also an ok to mid decent TMNT game I think?
