I would enjoy this game if the combat system wasn't so horrendously ass

I have tried several times to play this game and it just suuuucks for combat - you either like completely overpower a guy or you get killed instantly, even after having leveled significantly.

Also to claim 'skill issue' is dumb when the sword mechanics are like barely functional.

You either break the mechanics or the mechanics break you and that's just awful.
Also the save system in conjunction with the ease of death from stupid encounters like this just make it absurd

There is a good game here somewhere, many of the quests are very well written and very good but you have to trudge through getting mugged and sent back 30 minutes for doing nothing several times before you can actually get to the good content.
The gear progression system is also very confusing - it reaallly should be more clear.

The good content does not seem worth getting to if you have to wander through ♥♥♥♥ to get to it.

Oh yeah also performance weirdly sucks in cities - especially rattay. seems like a CPU thing.

No but seriously this game is extremely buggy, I suggest modding it to help with the lag and the bugs. Another thing I found is that if you have the DLC turned off the game doesn't crash as much, so I'd suggest keeping most of the extra mission DLC's off until you are done with the rest of the game or you are about to hit the max base level. (Obviously still keep the extra item DLCs)

This game is actually amazing tho

It's pretty good. There are a couple of bugs, and certain things I really don't like (like how you can't control births for Folktails, causing you to have a massive famine after you get a large amount of people), though this is to be expected for a Early Access title.

I do however, really enjoy the building mechanics. The way you try and tetris stack your houses and storage to maximise efficiency is really fun and makes your settlements look like the Kowloon Walled City (without the copious amount of drugs).

The water mechanics are really nice too, pushing you to maximise your water holding capacity.

If you like building games, this is one of the best that has come out in the past 2 years.

This game is fun. But, it gets old quick, and doesn't really provide a good experience for the late game.

The building mechanic is HORRIBLE. It barely amounts to anything, and it needs a better more late game material to use that doesn't break. Not only this, but I seem to constantly get hit from BEHIND WALLS. This needs to be fixed, to make later night possible to beat, and not horribly difficult.

Otherwise, pretty decent for a free game.

A Hat in Time is amazing. This game is totally worth 30$ (AUD) and the DLC is even better, specifically Nyakuza Metro, which is the best chapter in the game
