To address the main issue - I was just about to refund the game because the optimisation was so poor, but thanks to one of the other reviews here I tried switching to DX12 and it massively improved my framerate. Running in 1440p on a 5800X3D/6800XT without any DLSS/FSR and the game is very playable.

As for the rest of the game, sure it has its issues - it's early access. UI is a bit janky, it would be nice to have the option to turn off auto-parry, blood on floors sometimes looks really weird, ragdolls do crazy things, more keybinds are needed, etc etc... there's a lot for the devs to work on. Even then it's amazing how much fun I can have in this game just playing random duels - there's a huge skill ceiling and it's incredibly rewarding when you get half good at it.

Try the demo first to see if you like the general vibe, and you can always refund the game if it isn't playable in its current state.

Simply the best RTS ever made. The original is 17(!) years old now yet nothing since has ever topped it. The graphics still hold up incredibly well, and the gameplay and mechanics are completely unmatched. The scale is awesome (the 80x80km maps are HUGE) and ranges from small tactical micro-management to strategic macro play. Fairly easy to pick up and play, but with tons of depth if you want to get better at the game. With FAF you can even play co-op campaign, though it's a little fiddly to set up, and FAF is recommended as it introduces a ton of QOL features and optimisations. You might need a pretty good rig (CPU specifically) if you want to play big games though. It was a 10/10 game when it came out in 2007 and it's still a 10/10 today.

To be honest there are just better FPS games out there these days.

Loved the game until they added microtransactions. Now I will never buy another Overkill game.

What a pile of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this DLC is. There are four fights total in the entirety of this DLC, all of which are only hard in a really lazy way (tons of enemies thrown at you, no magicks except for revive and haste). Not only that, but 2/3 times the last fight crashes for no reason. 1/10. Definitely not worth £3
