Far behind in promised content, constant technical issues, lead dev crashes out on twitter constantly

Game ran fine, but consistent connection issues with the servers made it unplayable and unfun.

Enjoying the game quite a bit so far.

Unique setting for an action RPG - set in a modern fictional country known as 'Hadea' torn apart by a civil war.
Enemies are also unique in design, going for a truly otherworldly and eldritch feel. Opposed to just flavoured undead, demons, etc.
Combat is engaging, and I enjoy the wide variety weapon types looted so far providing a variety of experimentation early on with differing styles.
Investigation, conversation, and exploration mechanics are fun to engage with and all go hand-in-hand, as well as greatly adding to the immersion of the world.

I will update my review upon completion, but I wanted to get some early thoughts out as I've really been enjoying it.

I feel like people were expecting a Skyrim, but received a Dark Messiah. Which is a massive positive for me.

However I have seen some blatantly false information in some reviews such as combat completely lacking any aggro, while the first companion has multiple taunting skills. So I'm not quite sure what's going on with that.

Extremely poor story-telling and optimization bring an 'okay' game down to 'sub-par.'

I really enjoy Starfield.

I understand the discourse regarding most planets being a barren waste but as someone who is genuinely fascinated with all the boring things in the universe, I appreciate the realism there.

I've been playing it consistently here and there since launch, and I will probably do so more than I ever have with Skyrim or the recent Fallout games in the coming years simply because I enjoy the aesthetic.

I also don't see any issue with an individual wishing to charge money for their work as long as that work's compatibility is maintained. Endorsing mods has always been an option. I perceive creation club the same as those who would lock a mod behind Patreon walls, only now through a more official channel.

Heist style missions with random variables on a map of Rockay City against various other gangs and Sheriff Norris' RCPD.

Between the numerous large and small heists, prep missions, and the TDM-style gang wars to take/hold territory all with some level of variables; there is no doubt in my mind that Crime Boss is the best take on the heist genre available at the moment.

The writing and voice direction can be awkward at times, almost taking on the feeling of a mid-80s straight to VHS B movie. (Whether you read that as a positive or negative is entirely in the eye of the beholder.)

All-in-all though: this game is an absolute *steal* for the price.
