10/10 game, second only to RDR2 for me. Massive amounts of personality, humour and charm, would thoroughly recommend.

my dwarf ploughed an asari whilst his mates were getting beaten up by a void monster from space, causing one of them to get severe brain damage.

I don't have anywhere near as many hours as some people do already in this game, and I also don't play that many total war games generally, but from my perspective the hate this game gets is unfair. The armies are great fun to play (kislev war bear riders are cool), the campaign map is beautiful and the music is sound (funny pun).

The main gripe a lot of people have is the campaign mechanic of the game where Chaos rifts open and you have to go in and clap some Greater Demons, essentially locking your Legendary Lord in a Chaos God's crib for a bit - I found this a nice change of pace from regular games, instead of painting the map as you normally would, you had to instead decide when to enter the realms of chaos whilst also making sure you don't get murked by enemies during the process (really experienced players will not have this problem since they can definitely fight battles better than I can) - people are going to disagree with me on this, and that's okay - maybe its just me, but I've really enjoyed this game, and I reckon you will as well - and if you don't like the sound of the Realms of Chaos mechanic, Mortal Empires will be out soon so you should be all good.
