Its a good short form looter shooter with a good gameplay loop. DLCs are very worth it, the balance is just use whats fun :)

Great gam, do play

I have nothing against this game, its artstyle and mechanics felt solid and the combat felt really good. This game obviously follows a "souls-like" format, however it changes up the system to be interesting. My main problem with this game is that it feels like a hard grind from the very beginning, which is certainly not a good way to bring players in. The combat was nice, but you could tell it would get repetitive after a while, even just in the first area. If you like the souls games, I would try it.

The game is poorly optimized and doesn't support the resolutions of several systems. Just look at forums, people complain and Bethesda does nothing. I've spent hours trying to get it to work properly, even going to the Bethesda support page, however when I do all I get are error messages that tell me an "illegal parameter was used"

Do not buy, save yourself the trouble.

This game is unplayable.

I say that because everywhere I look I see peole complaining about bugs in the first 10 minutes of gameplay, crashing right after the tutorial. I couldn't even get that far. It crashes immediately after selecting a hero and clicking "start game." The devs are unhelpful and clearly don't want to fix bugs nor optimize their game.

I was excited to play this game, but it fell short, by about 50 hours.

BEST GAME FOR ANY SOUTH PARK FAN

I am a big fan of South Park and could not get enough of this game. I played through it several times and enjoyed every second of everytime. The game itself is very easy, even on the hardest difficulty setting, but the acheivements can get a little more challenging. The mechanics are great and much easier than any other turn based game I've played, especially in the regard that you can block your opponents attacks. There is a large variation in weapons and costumes and the combat is great altogether.

Not only is the combat great, but almost every second of the game relates to the show. Every junk item, except for maybe a couple of them, came directly from an episode in the show. Several lines in the story itself also came from the show, but gave them new meaning. The references go back to the first episode to the episodes around the time the game was released.

The game itself is not long, if you're slow, you can do everything in about 15 hours. I, personally, don't like long games, so this was great. It doesn't have very much replayability, unless you want to go see differences in dialogue and plot when you do certain things. If you want all the acheivements, you will have to replay the game 2 to 3 times.

The DLC for this game was very dissapointing. All that it is, is several costume sets that serve no purpose for most of the game. If the price for the DLC is low when you purchase the game, I say buy them, if it is still the price I paid for them, wait until they go on sale. They are only good until you have to go to the school the first time. By then, you probably have better stuff.

The next game also looks to show lots of promise, and it seems to take place right after this game, so it is recommended to play this game first. Matt and Trey have really poured their heart out in both games (hopefully) and from the sounds of it, in The Fractured But Whole, there will be more South Park locations and beloved characters. This is my favorite game at the moment and would love if The Fractured But Whole puts it to shame.
