The Iron Rig adds some very welcome QoL features/addons for your time dredging the seas.

I feel that the content added in this DLC has enough substance for me to recommend as more than just a "donate to the devs" button, which I feel about the other 2.

While I did like the additions The Pale Reach made to the game, I felt that the story ended right as things were getting interesting.
The Iron Rig's story is much smaller in scope, ending in a way that I could see would be disappointing for some but I see it as not overstaying its welcome.
I like the surprirse the DLC has in store for completionists as well.

Overall I recommend getting Dredge bundled as a complete edition but believe that The Iron Rig DLC is worth the money and look forward to what Black Salt Games produce in the future.

Make no mistake, purchasing this DLC is just a glorified "donate to the devs" button.
I'm not against that by any means but I think this implementation is actually detrimental to the game.

Without the DLC; You will have a permanently locked loot close to the start that will constantly remind you that you don't have 100% access to the game you purchased.
With the DLC; You will have access to a couple items that are largely useless but will contribute towards the threats in the game becoming trivial as you progressively get better equipped.

I'd highly recommend getting the full edition for new players like I did and using these items at your leisure though, they barely do anything for the gameplay loop.

While I did really enjoy the added area and ocean dwellers with this DLC, the story content really failed to deliver anything in its final act and I would love to see that get revised.

The equipment you get from the Pale Reach also has a big impact on the rest of the game making it a worthwhile voyage early on but make no mistake, buying this DLC is really just a glorified way of donating some extra money to the developers.
