It is impossible to understate how grueling and underwhelming the introduction to this game is, and how much the main story leaves to be desired. That being said... There has been literally no other game in my steam library that has me as hooked as this game. I cannot tell you how many times I've booted up this game with one objective or goal in mind only to be relentlessly distracted and lured by other interesting side quests, discoveries, combat encounters, puzzles etc. etc. etc. I could go on and on about how this game excels in subverting your expectations tenfold, but it's best if you just experience it for yourself. Enjoy feeling like a kid and being rewarded for every curious turn of your head.

Great game, better soundtrack, best developers. Embark really is shaping up to be the next goliath in game development. These folks know how to make good games that really capture the attention and loyalty of their fanbase. THE FINALS is something I can see myself playing for a LONG time, and that is the greatest compliment I can ever give to a game like this. Well done, Embark, well done.

Good game, even better devs. Helldivers 2 is one of the most amazing and engaging non-AAA games on the market, full stop. The developers are some of the hardest working, most transparent, and respectable studios to grace us fellow gamers with their presence.

If not only to support these amazing people, this game will have you BEGGING for more. It is worth every single penny.

Editing my review now that the game has exited beta:

Roboquest is an almost perfect blend of masterclass gunplay, movement, level design, and all around fast paced action. If you are a considerable fan of DOOM movement/combat and you like the art direction and design of Borderlands, you will find yourself unable to put this game down. In fact, it almost feels like a disservice by comparing this game to others, because this indie game pushes it's boundaries and the genre as a whole to it's utmost limit. It is truly in a realm of its own.

In short: Buy this game. It is worth your hard-earned time.

If you're buying this game to play zombies it's worth it, especially considering how massive the workshop community is. There's boatloads of content to play around with and I've sunk most of my time in this game just playing around on player-made maps. If you're buying this game with the intent of playing multiplayer however... I do not recommend buying this game. It's not worth it. It's outdated, has funky mechanics, and very unbalanced special weapons that are absolutely pay to win. Just play it for zombies, you'll have a much better time.

Playing this game made my penis gain 2 inches and my girlfriend can't stop having sex with me now.

The story is lovely, but my hours logged came from when the game released as an unoptimized mess and it was hard to enjoy at full capacity when the game was struggling to reach it's maximum potential in terms of performance.

It made me feel like the $1500 I dumped into this PC was worth less than a chromebook laptop when running this game. I imagine that the devs over ad CDPR have fixed some optimization issues since launch and it's probably in a playable state, and if it is, I would recommend for the story alone. Otherwise if these things drive you bonkers, wait until they optimize the game better.

But if bugs drive you nuts, and you want a AAA atmosphere filled with well programmed AI and police, this is not the game for you. I haven't seen any critical errors that crash the game, but I have seen some pretty annoying glitches that lock progression for no reason, I've seen my car go flying into the air, I've seen AI T-pose, and what not. If those things piss you off, don't buy this game. You'll hate it.

But if you're like me and you like to Todd Howard your way through a video game, you'll come to embrace some of the goofy things that ruin gaming experiences and learn to laugh at them as you progress through a true AAA story.

Buy this game if you want solid gun play, AMAZING story, and funny unintended moments. Avoid until further notice if you hate bugs, optimization issues, lack of promised features, and the like.

VR is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nightmare but otherwise it's a very very enjoyable game ESPECIALLY when played with friends.

Don't be fooled by their adorable appearance. That cute little jelly bean waiting at the finish line for you wants nothing more than to watch you suffer as you struggle to qualify.
