A surprisingly realistic drift sim hidden behind a striking veil of minimalistic arcade visuals. The game has a Hard mode, an option to turn Steering assist off and one to enable manual gear shift controls. Manual. 'Nuff said.

Kill those tires.

It's hard to write a review for a game this distinct. Especially if the gameplay style can't be found anywhere else for comparison. However, what this game offers is more than a novel experience.

Built upon the sturdy bones of the first game, this quite immediately feels more fleshed out and though seemingly harder than the first (due to it's randomised enemy spawn points instead of fixed places), offers a rogue-like gameplay element in a S̸̼̜̕u̸̡̠̐͝p̴̯̭͑̔ë̵̬͚́r̶̟̦̿̐h̶̝̪̓o̵̤͍̐ẗ̵̡́ͅ
setting.

What this means is that equipped power-ups and 'hacks' provide vastly different game mechanics that forces you to mix/match playstyle within a level. The rogue-like randomised factor promises constant 'skin of your teeth' moments and just plain mad improvisation in slo mo moments. This is a game that slows down for you when your character is idle, but greatly rewards conscious proactivity.

Mind Control Delete, in true S̵͉̉ú̴̪p̷͓̐e̵̮͐r̵͉͝h̸̨͛o̵̥͒t̴̩͛ fashion, injects a somewhat cryptic story that follows yet another vice; the premise of greed, the greed of power. Each level puts you in increasingly tough spots as you progress through newer hacks. The game almost feels threatened by your slow but sure progress, and it leads you up to a zenith of absolute chaos and even a certain level that can last you up to an hour and a half in a single-setting; even with breaks. However, that level alone was one of the most single defining moments in-game.

S̵͉̉ú̴̪p̷͓̐e̵̮͐r̵͉͝h̸̨͛o̵̥͒t̴̩͛: MCD isn't here to hold your hand or give you a fun 'new mechanic' to play around in, that was what the first game was for. MCD doesn't want you to progress. It doesn't like that you're able to slow time and the enemies can't. It was too good for you in the first game. Now, it's here to kick ass and chew bubblegum.

And that's you, you're bubblegum.

PS: To those complaining about the certain META element towards the 100% completion of the game. That's literally the point. That's your greed for power in full display.

To sum it up, the first S̴̮̒u̴̩͝p̶̬̈́è̸͚ṛ̴̀h̶̜͑o̴̠̾t̵̡̾ is the training grounds. This, this is the colosseum.
