Forza Horizon 5 looks great, has a lot of content and lets you roam a big, varied map.
And is ruined by the absolute shameful, unforgivable AI (or lack thereof).

See, the drivatars you race against are a complete lie. There is no AI, there is no intelligence. Non-human cars do not obey the same physic as you do. They follow the racing line at a preset speed (which depends on the difficulty setting), as if they were on rails, no matter what car they're in.
Only once you are very close to them does physic start to influence them, at which point they completely forget how to drive and usually brake, even if in a straigh road.
So, your only chance to win (at higher difficulty level) is to take the lead very early, usually in the first few corners, by dive-bombing and ramming. Failing that, once the lead car get a couple of seconds in front of you (you always start a race mid-pack, so you're always at a disadvantage), you can forget about catching up. Just restart the race and ram harder...

Oh, and obviously they cheat, they accelerate much faster than you, and in the off chance you get a significant lead, they rubberband back to you at insane speeds.

Of course, you can lower the difficulty, at which point the game becomes a walk in the park. Not fun either.

It is such a shame, because Forza Horizon 5 is a fun car game, but a terrible racing game...

Edit : And to add insult to injury, the game is full of bugs (some small, some progression-breaking, all annoying), some of them having existed for months, and the devs don't seem to give a flying **** about it...

There are many issues with this game.

From the start, you'll notice the missing features from previous games of the franchise. Where is BFV's movement system ? Where are the levolutions from BF4 ? Scoreboard ? Ability to change squad, team ? Server browser ?

Graphics are bad. No two way around it. Vehicles and guns look alright, but everything else looks awful. Sounds are equally terrible. Too compressed with no dynamics, no spatialisation.

On top of that, the maps feel boring and empty. Huge open spaces filled with nothingness. Everything feels too big and out of scale. Everything is too clean ; they also have no atmosphere, BF1 was amazing in that regard.

Content is lacking overall. Only 22 guns at launch, with the same boring attachments. Gadgets are... well, since there is no restriction, most players run around with the M5 (antitank gun) and don't care about the rest. I've yet to see an ammo box.

Classes are gone, soldiers are gone. Thanks to the specialists, everyone look the exact same, on your team and on the opposing one. But most aggravating, they are cringy as hell... Seriously, they feel more Fortnite than Battlefield.

Gameplay-wise, 128 players is a big fail. Huge clusterf*ck with no flow. 64 players is better, but the maps are still bad...

In the end, every single aspect of this game is a step back from the previous Battlefields. Movements feel clunky compared to V, sound design is abysmal, graphics look worse than BF1 from 2016, maps are terrible, and specialists are no substitute for the classes that have been a staple of the franchise for nearly 20 years.
