Exploration is fun, having to do so with limited items is not. In a lieu of a flashlight the player is expected to pick up lightbulbs, lighters and candles, the problem being is that these items are finite and if you run out or you already placed all your bulbs and candles then you're left trying to explore in complete darkness. Whats more is an inane sanity mechanic cribbed from Amnesia: The Dark Decent, so if you get stuck in the dark you will hallucinate yourself to death...somehow (which doesn't make any more sense from when Amnesia did that bollocks).

Yes, I played only about an hour of it, but after I realized there was no point to exploring or taking in the atmosphere and that the game rested on frantically trying just to be able to see where you're going, I've had enough.

Bottom line for horror devs: just give the player a viable flashlight. I'm trying to get into the ambience, I don't want to be running around looking for lighters or worrying I wasted a bulb in a stupid spot, and I certainly don't want to be fumbling around in the dark either.
