The Drifter is an amazing experience from start to finish. The pixel art is expressive and well done giving each scene life and the characters genuine emotion. The story is great, a little sci-fi, a little horror, some comedy, and a few twists that keep things interesting.

The best part of the game has got to be the voice acting. It's incredible. The cast does a brilliant job. This was an experience I enjoyed thoroughly. It blows every other game this genre away. The quality of every aspect demonstrates the labor of love that went into this.

If you like point and click adventure games, this feels like what they aspire to be.

Incredibly stylistic on-rails shooter. It feels incredibly cool playing, like John Wick meets Superhot.

There are only 10 tracks and each is static (some variance between difficulty levels for enemy spawns) creates for a limited music and game experience.

In the videos put out by the dev's they state the levels are dynamically generated using an algorithm to match the song. I'm hoping they allow user edited levels similar to beat saber. That feature would make this game a must own for VR.

TLDR: If you liked HackNet, Uplink, or any other hacking simulation game this game will be a hit for you.

This is the absolute best hacking simulation game I've ever played! It follows a real-world methodology and simulated toolset. The missions are fantastic and the production values far ahead of any other hacking sim currently on Steam.

The Good:
  • Excellent graphics
  • Well thought out and executed missions
  • Enough depth in the missions to make them meaningful
  • More features and stories are being released into the game world
  • The Developer is actively supporting the game
  • Immersive experience

The bad...:
  • Graphical problems make highlighting text a chore and hit or miss with the notebook
  • Is that an 8 or a B in the MAC addresses?!
  • Windows are transparent and fade when you shift your focus to a different one -- this makes translating data from one to another difficult when you can't select the field (i.e. information in a picture)
  • The puzzles are linear and some elements can be very opaque.
    - The crypto challenges require you to either know or look up cryptographic algorithms in the real world (internet)
    - You have to be precise with what you are doing and can easily miss a critical clue in some of the missions (you can't fail the mission, but you will be stuck until you figure it out)

Excellent way to play board games virtually with friends or new people that aren't close by. Also a great way to test out new games, create, and modify existing.
