Ladies and Gentlemen, we got 'em.

After we let Sony know what's what, they decided not to move forward with PSN account linking. You can all recall your refunds, switch that review back, and support Arrowhead now more than ever. It's time to fight for democracy once again.

tl;dr Game is great, grinding style MMORPG with a healthy dose of lore for the fanatics. The recent update bombshelled the reviews, but Jagex rolled back the update in an effort to right the wrong. Mad respect for the devs for owning up and fixing the MTX problem and being transparent. Other developers need to take note (@TRS).

I only recently switched over to the Steam version of RS3 to make tracking my hours a little easier, I have well over 1,500 hours in total. That being said, I have every skilled maxed and working my way towards all primaries being 120. Here's what I'll say about this game:

*It's a grind-based game. You will work hard for most items of use, and if that's up your alley (like it is for me) you'll love it.
*Follows the basic RPG mechanics, similar to WoW in terms of ability use.
*99% of this game runs on a RND mechanic specific to each boss/enemy. Sometimes you WILL NOT have luck for days or WEEKS at a time, then suddenly make max cash stack in 1 hour. Oh the joys of RND.
*You could play this game in its entirety (minus 4 bosses) without talking to a single person, or you can join a clan and become one of the most active players in the community. It is fully up to you and how much you participate in the community.

*Speaking of the community, it has been wonderful in my experience. Most players nowadays, at least that I have been around on World 31, have been very responsive, respectful, and helpful to new players. With the newest Necromancy update, I am constantly seeing new players at the Ritual Site asking questions in relation to the skill, with multiple responses from veteran players. The advice thrown around and community participation to help has been very uplifting.

As of recently (09/04/23), Jagex released an overhaul of the Yak Track, titled "Hero's Pass". This was received by the community with the hostility that it deserved. The sellout vibe of MTX was actually disgusting and the fact that they had the audacity to think this would go over well with the community is appalling.

HOWEVER.

They heard the outcry and saw the exodus of some of their most loyal players and realized they messed up. Literally, they released a blog post beginning with "We messed up." To me and my buddies still active in the community, this was a huge sigh of relief for a specific reason: they were listening. A recent issue I see trending from game developers is giving up when a release doesn't go well, dropping the game entirely (Turtle Rock Studios, I'm staring DIRECTLY at you e_e), or ignoring player outcry entirely and continuing down a path of destruction.

I'm applauding Jagex and the developers behind the most recent update with RS3, owning up to their mistakes and working DIRECTLY with the community to ensure that what they develop is fair to everyone that plays their game, both members and FTP. I will fully recommend this game to anyone willing to put in the time and effort. Oh, and the lore is probably the best of any game I've played, sub FromSoftware lore.

tl:dr, its a good game, it plays nice, good in single or multiplayer, wish it had VS campaign.

I quite enjoy this game, and I play it often alone in offline or with another buddy of mine who has of 4,000 hours in Left 4 Dead 1/2. He knows his way around this genre of game and he agrees with most people, "Nothing's better than the original, but its pretty good. Well, now it is." B4B was not great on launch, but with recent updates and decent support all around, the game has come a long way and plays very similar to its' predecessor.

But I thoroughly enjoy this game. Swarm was great while it lasted but it is team-oriented, and getting a team that consciously understands how to use mutation points its... rare, to say the least. My main complaint is that the campaign is not nearly as expansive as they say it is. The card system is great on the players end, but the variety of the corruption cards are very limited so receiving the same corruption card in the all four acts seems a bit ridiculous. I also was finding myself really missing the VS campaign from the Left 4 Dead series, which was odd because I didn't think that would be something I'd miss. But I am often wondering if the campaign would be more exciting(?) if this was added.

Finally, a game with good potential that wasn't adandoned by its' developers.

Honestly though, this game is great. The devs constantly update it and make sure it runs smoothly. After the latest optimization patch, the game has been running smoothly w/o any frame drops. The only thing that is REMOTELY annoying/funny is when the AI (Rabbits, lizards, etc.) phase through rocks and I can't find them anymore.

Honestly, anyone complaining about FNAF "taking over Garrys Mod" go complain to someone who cares. This game goes through workshop phases. Right now, its the Mortal Combat X stage, and earlier, it was Super Smash Bros. Yes, at one point and time, FNAF was the phase, but its over. No one cares about that game anymore. So if you are looking to play a fun game, play this one, and ignore the thumb downs because they are sore losers you don't like it when the community isn't going there way. I recommend this game passionately and if you don't agree, then go play your Call of Duty.
