I really enjoyed this one. Performing a few of the actions was a little frustrating, but that is where my complaints end. The puzzles were well thought out and we escaped in just over 2 hours.

We played with two sets of four people over Zoom and this seemed like a decent approach. There are enough things to note down and think about all at once, that nobody seemed bored.

Highly recommended for the price. 😉

Emotionally affecting and pretty topical. Can easily be played through in one sitting.

As long as you don't have a strong aversion to walking simulators, it is easy to recommend The Beginners Guide. Don't read too many reviews, you're best going into this one knowing as little as possible.

If you enjoyed the first game, then don't even bother reading any other reviews. This is more of the same, but in the best way. OFDP2 takes everything that was great about the original and expands on it. More moves, more modes, more weapons and a tonne of extra content.

I have always loved the simplicity of this series and it still amazes me that a game with such simple controls can offer you so much. Everything is executed expertly and once you get going you really do feel like a bad-ass in every battle. Every hit matters and the moment you get complacent, OFDP2 will slap you down.

Damn near PERFECT.

A fantastic and very competent third-person shooter. I had written this game off for far too long, simply because it was related to a property I wasn't too interested in. THIS WAS A MISTAKE! I enjoyed every second of my time with 'Space Marine'.

The controls are tight, the weapons varied, plus the game does a great job of making both melee and ranged combat interesting. You can approach most situations in a variety of ways, and you feel like a badass whatever you decide.

The story is pretty interesting and does a great job of bringing you into the world. The narrative regularly drops in peices of Warhammer 40k lore, that sent me down Wikia rabbit-hole more than a few times. Sadly, dialogue has a habit of cutting out if you take a few steps while NPCs are talking, but you don't miss anything crucial.

Speaking of world building, 'Space Marine' does an incredible job of recreating the world of the game. This feels like a the product of a genuine love for the franchise and is the furthest thing from a cheap cash-grab. Environments and characters look like they are pulled directly from a Games Workshop store, loaded with iconography.

Modern gamers may be a little put off with some pretty dated game design troupes, but for me, there was nothing deal-breaking. Some environments are unnecessarily large, but are generally to scale with set-pieces in the table top game. The titular Space Marine feels a little sluggish to control, but he is a man in a tank suit! In fact, the very worst I can say is that you will occasionally pass through some bland, surplus corridors that do not have much impact.

If you are looking for a decent shooter, with a pretty brief and satisfying campaign, you could do a lot worse. There is nothing that really appealed to me once the credits had rolled, but 'Space Marine' kept me more than entertained for those hours I spent with it.

A fantastic physics-based puzzle game! Basic puzzles, made infinitely more fun by the floaty controls of the avatars (henceforth referred to as "Bobs").

In 'Human: Fall Flat' you work your way through a selection of themed levels, trying to find the exit. Along the way, you will need to learn the basics of navigating the world and solve a bunch of intuitive puzzles to progress. Once you have got the hang of the controlling your Bob and the climbing mechanics, this game is an absolute scream.

I ran through the whole thing with one of my best gaming friends and went straight back to mop-up all the achievements we could be bothered to do. There were so many points that had us belly-laughing along the way, as well as challenges that felt genuinely rewarding. The levels themselves, are very varied and each level offers its own unique challenges.

Well worth a purchase, especially if you plan on going through it in co-op.

Those who enjoyed the previous Lego Batman games, should not hesitate to buy this game. The campaign is great fun and unlocking all the extras once you are done, is just as great. There are lots of obscure characters to play with and just as many fun Easter Eggs for super sweaty DC fans.

If however, you are looking to purchase Lego Batman 3 after playing Lego Marvel Super Heroes, then please be aware that these games do differ a fair bit. Instead of having a large city to explore, Lego Batman 3 gives you a few hub locations and themed Lantern Core mini-planets instead. I am sure fans of Green Lantern will be in love, but those expecting to have a romp through Gotham or hop over the river to Metropolis, may be a little disappointed.

Lego Batman 3 is, however everything we have come to love from these Lego games and well worth the price of admission. I just hope that the next entry will take steps to make the DC Universe feel a little better realised as a whole.

Don't let the Minecraft comparisons put you off. Whilst Terraria is based on collecting materials and crafting, this is a very different game.

There is a very definate path to follow and campaign to progress through, with increasingly powerful gear. You can play as a melee, ranged, magic or summoning based warrior and defeat over a dozen bosses. In addition to building yourself up, it pays to build you own town/settlement and attract other characters. These additions offer many different invaluable skills and items to help you along.

Everything is very well balanced and when you get stuck, there is always more items and equipment to work towards. If I had one complaint, it would be that progressing through the game isn't very intuitive. Unless you plan on a lot of experimenting and trial and error with the crafting guide, I would recommend keeping the Terraria Wiki to hand.

A surprisongly great RPG experience. EBF4 offers a satisfying JRPG experience that should be accessible to most players. Design choices are all logical and the game progresses quickly enough to keep you engaged.

Developing your charecters is done in two main ways, upgrading skills and equipment. Both tasks are easy to understand and getting yourself geared up for battles/dungeons is never a chore.

The graphics are very colourful and other than an occasional adult bewb joke, the whole experience is pretty kid friendly. I was put off slightly by the charecter design of humans, which looks a little cheap to me, but once I got over this I had an absolute blast.

Perfect. Masterful game design and a thoroughly entertaining puzzler. The learning curve of Hexcells Infinite is just forgiving enough and solving the puzzles is very satisfying.

Although this series often gets compared to Minesweeper, there is absolutely no guesswork needed here. No matter what the situation, there us always a definitive solution.

I installed Controller Companion, kicked it over to my TV and played through the whole thing with the wife. A very enjoyable experience.

As a fan of card/board games, I fell in love quickly with Hand of Fate. There is something about being able to see the mechanics of a game in action that really appeals to me.

Hand of Fate is a roguelike RPG presented as a card game, you advance through dungeons, complete quests, challenges and defeat bosses, only leaving the table for some hack and slash combat. Everything is seamlessly integrated and even when you are jumping into some Arkham-like combat sequences for 1-2 minutes, it feels natural.

The main antagonist is the dealer and you spend most of your time interacting with him directly. Although he often makes snide comments and says things to provoke you, none of the dealer's actions ever seem vindictive, so the game rarely feels unfair. Sucess depends largely upon you making good choices from the events that unfold during each "hand" and not taking unnecessary risks.

I have been recommending Hand of Fate to friends since I first fired it up, and don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
