Very good 2D-Sidescroller. Smooth and fair gameplay and it doesn't overstay its welcome. Took me around 7h to finish, including all collectibles.
After that you unlock Hard Mode, which seems to be WAY harder. You also need it for the true ending, so there's that. If you're up for a challenge you probably get another 5-10h out of it, depending on how hard it gets. The first few levels were definitely challenge.
Recommended, a solid 9/10 for fans of the genre.

A very good, classic RPG with modern influences. The balance is a bit weird (spellcasters are in a weird spot, so are the hybrid classes) but in the end it's very entertaining. I liked the writing, the whole atmosphere the game thrives on and - to some extend - the combat. In combination with the fair price point this game sits at, it's something every RPG fan should play.

A worthy successor to Tower of Time and a great indie RPG. Highly recommended if you like a game that delivers a highly focused (combat) experience with no unnecessary bells and whistles attached.

I was very close to giving this one a bad review at first because it is EXTREMELY slow when you first start out in campaign mode. After I made my way through Act 1 the game and all of its mechanics were starting to finally kick in and the choices you made finally started to become interesting.

It's definitely a good game, especially for the price. There's also a Realm Mode where you do runs, if you're not interested in a campaign with a - let's be honest here - kinda entertaining but mediocre story.

I bought this on a whim for 5 bucks because I didn't have anything else to play at that time. What can I say, the glowing reviews are there for a reason. The main story is extremely engaging, dark and well written and the side missions shake things up a little if you need something that's more light hearted. And while I didn't 100% the game (and I'm not planning to), I got 50h out of it.

I bought Yakuza Kiwami as soon as the credits stopped rolling, I didn't even think about it. Amazing game.

Is it a good game? Yes, with some caveats. The world is huge but pretty empty and there isn't much to do besides some monster slaying. Yes, there's lots of quests but they are fairly simple.

Would I still recommend it? Definitely. The combat is fun for a while - especially after you get some spells - and I'd say that you get enough content for the money you're spending. Some areas are also definitely nice to walk around in.

The focus is definitely on the exploration part, as - to make progress - you basically just have to explore the map until you run into the item / NPC you've been looking for since you got quest number XY.

It's a good game. Never played the version before but jumped in after I saw the glowing reviews for the "remake". It isn't on par with some other Metroidvanias like Hollow Knight or Bloodstained, but I'm complaining on a very high level here. Absolutely get this game if you're a fan of the genre!

Do you like roguelikes? Do you like making meaningful decisions at almost every step you take? Then this is the game for you.

Jupiter Hell does what many other games (even some of the greats of the genre) lack: it presents you with a number of options and expects you to (almost) always pick the best one to succeed. This might sound stressful, but believe me, it isn't. The way the game flows and how the gameplay loop (shoot, duck behind cover, move carefully) works, guarantees that the precise decision making expected of you to win a run will lead to a plethora of adrenaline packed situations which play out in seconds and - even though the game is turnbased - will feel like an action movie.

There are 3 classes, each of them with a number of skills and "master traits", which basically function like subclasses as you can only pick one on each character and they significantly change how your run will play out. There's also a good variety of guns, melee weapons (although keep in mind that ranged combat is the focus of the game!), relics, exotics and special levels to find and explore.

I could go on about how there's also terminals to hack, mods for your weapons, trials and challenges etc. but others have done that in great detail already.

If you're a fan of roguelikes (no unlocks in this one that make your character stronger, only additional difficulty levels, trials and challenges) you definitely need to try this. I never thought I could love a game as much as I loved ADOM back in the good old days, but Jupiter Hell might be a strong contester for my personal #1 in the genre.

Buy it now!
