I tried to push the quests as far as I could, but I just can't motivate myself to keep it up anymore
So now it's time to give my review.

What's the point of even doing this? Is a question I often asked myself while playing.
Unlike the other extraction type shooter I played, there is no central objective people are aiming for, everyone just goes in and does whatever quest they have.
That's why I find myself genuinely asking, why should I even do this? There is nothing to work towards, no challenge to be had. Quests can be completed by simply going in naked and stuffing whatever quest item you need into your safety pocket.
The games only motivating factor for doing anything is the so called "expedition" where you then lose everything again for a miniscule bonus.
And not to mention, to even get this miniscule bonus, you have to never take anything with you ever, because you need 5 million worth of inventory.
I'm sure the dev who thought of that, was of the opinion that would lead to very exciting and motivating gameplay.

Fact is, If you are someone who doesn't understand the appeal of other extraction shooters or a game like DayZ, then this game offers nothing that could be intresting for you. And when you are a person who understands the appeal of those games, you can get other games for significantly cheaper than this one.
Also worth mentioning
The developers use AI voices. While the process they use to get these AI voices is supposedly more ethical than most other AI, it's still AI and nothing will change that

You know that scene from Ratatouille where Ego eats the food and gets a flashback to his childhood?

Yeah that was me playing this

The game is good, and you will enjoy it if you like this type of game.
But if you want to use it as an entry point to the genre a word of caution.
The game is not balanced, especially if you attempt Desert T3 runs. You are basically required to follow the meta, to even have a chance at the final boss.
My advice stick to forest. That way you can enjoy a wide build variety. Only do dessert for the required unlocks and then get back out

Peak game kart racing game, with one flaw, half of the ost is complete ass.
Like really really ass, the guy who made apotos remix should never ever be allowed to work on any piece of music ever again, with how he ruined that track.
Almost all the final Laps add horrendous vocals that just ruin the entire song. Or just switch the track entirely into something that is even more ass (looking at you metal harbor final lap)
Luckily this flaw can be mitigated in game, because the game offers custom playlist feature. It may not have quite as extensive of a track list as I hoped, but I can manage.

Also, the DLC character implementation is hot ass, none of them have any voice lines, not even the ones SEGA themselves own. Like you seriously telling you couldn't do voicelines for the Werehog? Brother just either reuse old lines, or just have Roger speak in Chris Redfield voice. Instead of giving us a complete mute of a character

It took them 15 years to put the control improvements the 3ds version made on a version that releases for all platforms.

But now the game can finally be enjoyed on modern hardware, using mouse and keyboard, or alternatively on controller with an actually functioning control layout

Patch 2 actually majorly improved the experience, at least for me.
Basically no more weird rollbacks, ball movement overall is smoother and a lot of things feel more consistent.
Obviously there are still some issues, but it's on the right track
