This is a fun real-time with pause sci-fi rogue-like dopamine hit of a game. It eventually gets a little repetitive but the soundtrack and graphics and combat are enough to keep you later than you intended. Good story.

A couple of mechanics that could be improved.
- Being able to see your special officer's 3x3 stat icons when they're selected. You have to unmaximize the card to see the stats to compare against normal officers, but to unmaximize the card, you have to unselect the officer and reselect them again.
- There's no button to switch from Star Map to Local Map, but there is a Local Map to Star Map button. Please add a Local Map button when viewing the Star Map.
- Please allow all lengthy end-of-chapter dialogs to be skipped completely (not just fast-forwarded), even if that means bypassing the evaluation of some completion achievements.

This turn-based strategy game is like a combination of chess, Magic the Gathering, and FTL. Great music and animations make the pacing feel anything stagnant. Great for a casual few hours of enjoyment like FTL. Fills a niche I didn't know I had.

FTL, you are a worthy addition to my library. Great challenge, infinite replayability.
