This is a cool take on the indie platformer genre. The physics-based controls combined with creative re-use and combination of the level mechanics creates a lot of depth to the gameplay. Just beating each level is (typically) pretty easy, but the game really shines in its secondary goals (namely level speedrunning and finding collectibles) which force you to master the mechanics and think creatively. I think casual gamers will also have a good time with the game (though it may only be a handful of hours of gameplay total in that case), but the devs put in a lot of effort to really polish the experience for people who will have fun perfecting their technique on each level.

Definitely pick up this game if you like multiplayer games of any genre. It's a lot of fun at any level and while easy to pick up, the skill ceiling is extremely high.

Fantastic game, especially if you have friends to play it with. I haven't found myself wanting to play this game online with strangers, but it works GREAT with local multiplayer and over LAN.

In the huge genre of roguelikes, this one stands out not only because of its unique setting but also for the strategic thinking required for every scenario, every decision throughout the game. FTL keeps the good of the genre while adding gameplay elements hitherto foreign to this kind of game. 9/10
