What if the mundane concept of inventory management were made into a rich, engaging roguelike? That's this game in a nutshell.

Modifiers that change the game in minor to major ways keep the game fresh for dozens of runs on 3 characters who play very differently from each other. Item combinations I hadn't thought of continue to surprise me. Because it's still in early access, the game still has bugs and rough edges, but it's so much fun that I can look past them.

If you enjoy roguelikes of any sort you should absolutely try this game. You'll know within 5 minutes if you're going to love it or hate it.

Take those saying "it isn't worth the price" on day one of early access with a grain of salt. I've already played about 3 hours on day one, and I plan on playing a few more runs in the next few days. Even if the dev makes no further updates, I personally feel like I've gotten my money's worth. If your budget is tight, that's another matter.

Also, those reviews don't talk about the "Cruciball Demo" available in the main menu, which is a preview of a Ascension-style system the devs are working on. As of writing, you can only play it at level 5, which has these modifiers:
1. Start each run with +1 Stone, Stones have -0/-1.
2. Miniboss battles can appear in ? scenarios.
3. Enemies and minibosses have increased health.
4. Misnavigation damage is increased to 5.
5. Pegboards contain fewer Crits and Resets.

Probably the best Counter-Strike since Counter-Strike: Source!
