Beautiful graphics, weird and interesting direction, and a story that is both funny and heart-wrenching at the same time.
It can be defined as a walking simulator, with easy puzzle sections and frequent cutscenes. A mix between A Plague Tale: Innocence (gameplay) and The Stanley Parable (script).

It's a short story (about 4 hours), but very entertaining. Highly recommended!

Codex of Alchemical Engineering is a Kongregate game that I enjoyed for years, trying better, more efficient or just more fun solutions for the same problems. Never got to finish it or it's much harder continuation 'Magnum Opus Challenge', but I still have my .txt with some solutions I felt proud of.
This was Zachtronic's first game I played, many years ago, and it accompanied me through school and work during down times.

When I found out about this remake, I dove right in.
I must say, even when there were some changes (A missing command, different distribution), it was improved in every aspect: More commands, mechanisms and glyphs; hexagonal grid instead of squared, for more angles and positions; more levels; better difficulty curve; a nice story to tie it all in.

I still haven't finished this game, but I can say it's an amazing gem and I recommend it every time I can.

If you haven't played this game and are interested in playing it, just do it. Like many other reviews say, the less you know about Outer Wilds, the better experience you will have.

The way information and progression is served in this game is really unparalleled. Only it's DLC matches it's quality and feel.

I feel I have a thousand things to say about it, but I will refrain from mentioning anything that could spoil it for someone somewhat.

Just play it!

Unpopular opinion: It's pretty good.

Short Review: Great quick game! With 3 modes of play, and about 3 levels per mode, it can be cleared relatively quickly, especially if you save your money to buy the more expensive weapons first.
PROS:
  • Good graphics.
  • Good gun mechanics.
  • 7 varieties of zombies (a good amount considering the game's length).
  • Good map variety (considering game length).
  • Some interesting game pre-game mechanics (weapon mods and selections).
  • Great stress reliever / replacer.
  • Good replayability / nice for showing off your headset (unless you fear your friends breaking it out of fear).
  • Active developer on Discord.
  • Modular design of level selection provides ease for map addition (as long as it's still alive).
CONS:
  • Few weapons.
  • Few weapon mods.
  • Weapon mods/selections don't save between games.
  • Zombies and mutants have very basic animations and AI, they stop being scary after a few hours.
  • All enemies are close-range. So all of them can be killed with the same strategy.
  • Missing some level variety, or more variables per game mode, so it gives it more replayability.
Overall: It's a great game for it's price. Don't expect a full-fledged, story-driven game. But if you're expecting an arcade-y zombie shooter with some basic objectives, you'll be very satisfied.

This was an actual surprise for me. I bought it in a bundle mainly for Steam card farming, but this game ended up being an unexpected gem. I strongly recommend it!

Maybe the greatest 3rd person shooter sandbox mayhem-creating game ever. You can detonate C4 attatched to a person that's riding on a car, hanging from a helicopter while crashing onto a building over a cliff.
The story is basic, but lets the player use his/her imagination to complete most of the missions the craziest way possible, so it basically serves as a means to discover and enjoy the gameplay.
