Early Access Review
As a pretty huge Mega Man fan, I was always on the fence with buying this because I was very nervous about jumping into this and being disappointed by what seemed like a promising concept. Ended up being very, very satisfied with the game (at least, in its current state, since it's an Early Access title). It really scratches that Mega Man X itch (despite the intro obviously referencing MM2, the game is overall trying to replicate the X series more than anything) and then some. Controls feel really good (using a PS3 controller, with the actual in-game controls tuned to my liking), gameplay is fast and quite fun, music is very catchy and enjoyable to listen to, and the Defiant settings let you turn up the dial with some difficulty spices to season the game to your liking. Even when I can recognize particular segments (it's not possible to have an unlimited number of set pieces for a stage, after all), the different combinations still feel fresh and engaging to tackle. My one real complaint lies with the visuals and animations, which I personally feel are a disservice to the cool character designs and give the game a kinda Flash-like appearance that might turn some people away from an otherwise really great game. The game also currently lacks a proper end-game (ending after the eight bosses, assuming the Endless Run defiant setting is turned off), though from what I can gather, it's something that's currently being worked on among other things.

Overall, I think if you're longing for a solid Mega Man game (X series in particular) and the idea of a Mega Man-esque rogue-like game sounds like it might be your cup of tea, I'm confident that you'll end up very much enjoying this game, even in its technically unfinished state.
