Interesting "semi-idle" game though not exactly what I was expecting. On one hand it was amusing to find some of the item drops I got with some of the crazy numbers they seemed to have (while still just in normal mode), but on the other hand the party management was...odd. There seemed to be a way to set up 3 different teams, but you could only go on adventures with only one at a time? I was thinking you could set up 3 different teams for the "idle" grind...but never found a way to do so?

Took me about 23 hours to get through normal mode. I feel like it could have been a bit shorter but there were a few areas that "gate blocked" me from progressing for...longer than I'd have liked. The in game help area helps with some details to better prepare your team, but only so much. I definitely got lucky with the adventurers, the gear for those adventurers, and the townsfolk I was able to add. I think it'd have taken me a lot longer the lucky "drops" to finish out grinding to finish normal mode then what it did.

Now to decide if I want to 'grind' out collecting the other adventurer "invites" (for the achievements) and then switch over to "hard mode" to finish the rest of the achievements with...more grinding. Hmm...

Early Access Review
This has certainly been more cost effective for me compared to spending money on IRL packs to open!

I spent about 20ish hours in a blind attempt for my first store. I don't regret it as it was a lot of fun to explore the game and tinker with what I saw. However, it's definitely helpful checking out info about the game mechanics that are now available and there is a LOT available in the Steam guides, the TCG store wiki, and the official Discord. At this point, there may be a decent bit only in the Discord that hasn't been updated in the other spots so you may want to drop by the Discord if there are any questions.

I will admit I did get burnt out trying to get to level 100, but I did eventually get there after about 160ish hours? Perhaps a bit less as I spent some time doing other tests and checks without working on the level grind. It took me a 'year' in game, but it could be done quicker if you went for a more optimal/min-max method.

In any case, I'm looking forward to seeing what else gets add later since it's still in Early Access at this point!

EDIT: Still liking this game a lot and editing it for the Steam awards nomination. Feel free to drop by the official Discord as there are lots of numbers for things behind the scenes if you're curoius!

A fun little game to spend some time on. The style reminds me of Skate or Die for MS-DOS/NES though a lot less to this then those games. I could see myself coming back to this to just mess around with to cool down from...whatever. Well, especially now that the final achievement is done (getting the 1080 on any level but Mega Ramp!).

Good grief was that achievement a pain to finally get! >_<;;

I forgot to mention - it works great on the Steam Deck as it's where I have been playing it on. :)

First SC I've played since SC2 and really have enjoyed it. The story mission side (Libra of Souls) is neat as it's based around a custom character you make and their interaction to the soul story in the midst of what all of the other core characters are doing at the same time. I've spent a TON of time just in character creator alone as it's been a lot of fun to see who to make from it. Admittedly it's not a really extensive creator but it still has plenty of options (though you have to get the DLCs for most of the items now).

No opinion on online fights as I never had interest in it (only did enough at launch to get the achievements), but I still enjoy booting this up to go a few rounds with the AI...or just let the AI go against AI if I just want to spectate. The AI CAN be rather dumb though... :P

Side note - ...I've actually been using the character creator (and screenshots from it) to make tokens for my D&D group which has been amusing. xP

EDIT: Don't have much to add right now though I still enjoy it...just doing edit for badge work? Yay nomination thingy? xD

EDIT2: Another edit for badge things...

I've found this game super enjoyable. I only have one character at end game, but it's been quite fun starting new characters with other friends and help them along through the game in their own worlds.

I've sunk way more time into this than I thought I would. It was really surprising that they released a new DLC for this after how many years it was on the market. While I only have one character who has gone through all three difficulties (before the DLC was released), I have a number of others testing out various other builds.

It's not bad on your own, but it's definitely been far more enjoyable running through this with a friend.

EDIT: Time to edit for the nomination badge thing~
EDIT2: Editing once more for nomination badge thing...

I like playing rpgmaker games. Or rather, I like playing them and see how they make use of all the data that is shared between them. Some games end up being rather neat and enjoyable to play the whole way through...others, just become rage inducing for me. Unfortunately, this was one of the latter.

To be honest, I decided to give this one a try as it seemed like it'd be a relatively short one (based on its achievements) and I like how its achievements seemed more story based than...grindy based. A couple ended up being for some optional bosses, and that's fine. I just didn't expect how...aggravating getting through some of the story was.

The battles overall were what you'd expect from rpgmaker. The status ailments could really screw you over at times, but this one gave you equip to help guard against them when they'd show up so they weren't as big of an annoyance as other rpgmaker games make them to be... (I'm looking at you, Destiny Warriors RPG ... -.-; ).

However, what really drove me nuts with this game was the travel and maps you had to deal with. Using wrap around maps is a neat gimmic for an area, maybe 2 (like what FF1 did), but not for a whole bunch that end up being rather large areas...that just wrap. This is especially true when one of the areas has a timer (heat in a desert). It was WAY too easy to lose my bearings and with a map that...really didn't help. I mean...how fun would you think a wrapping mostly nondecript map to be when you have to find certain triggers to move the game forward? :\ The other aspect that drove me nuts was areas that were mazes to get through that weren't the labyrinths you expected to go through..and you had to do them each time you went between towns. I think I've played other rpgmaker games allowed you to 'skip' over areas if you've completed them. That would have relieved a lot of annoyance from this one...especially with all the backtracking you had to do in the game.

The travel methods weren't really there to help you. Travel by water only lasted...a few minutes and never used again? And this is after spending 1k for one and 8k for another. You don't get the airship you see early on until much later...when you finally get party members. All in all, it made traveling around once you explored it all just a huge pain in the ass.

Then there's method of obtaining the skills for your characters. It's one thing to have to go hunting for special places or out of place things to get ultimates or something really special like that. But for getting your next spells or skills (learning how to cast Fire, Water, etc...more than the heal you start with)? I ended up just resorting to a guide to get them as it honestlly didn't feel worth to scour the world for them...when some really don't stand out. Plus ones you find end up being for someone you don't get...for many hours from that moment. Have fun remembering that was there.

I had started off finding the game fun (while going along with the usual world is screwed...gotta save it somehow?), but it just devolved into an annoying mess. I don't know how many hours I wasted wandering around lost because I couldn't find the item or trigger I needed...some of it while resorting to a guide. I ended up finishing it mostly just because I felt I might as well with the time I sunk into it and personally felt odd not doing so. If you want to try it and get another 'perfect' game (that was on my mind too), feel free to...but just be forewarned.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, with the content that was there I feel like I should have finished this in perhaps half the time I spent. >_<

I think I've had more fun determining plague names with a friend when playing co-op to see what ends up destroying the world than anything else. I've gone through most of the plagues now in single player (have to win one in normal to unlock each one) and there have been some I've not really had that much fun with (fungus/spore) and some I've gotten a real kick out of (mind worm). The modifications of the plagues are shared across a good number of them so once you find a combination that works it can generally be used for a number of them...at least on the lower difficulties. I haven't tried the harder difficulties yet.

All in all, it's a fun little game I play in spurts when there's nothing else I want to do...and ravage the whole world in the meantime.

Happened to get this when it was offered for free (for like a day or so) thanks to one of the Steam groups I follow making a notice about the offer. Had no real idea what to expect going into it as I didn't play Wakfu (which this story is apparently a part of) all that much. However, it was fun to watch regardless as it's a cute animation that is about 45 min long. Makes me think of a story that would be in a children's book but had quite a few amusing moments too.

Apparently this free copy did qualify for the trading cards...or card as it were? I got one at about 30 min into the animation. Idling it for awhile long to see if any more as the news about the cards says for half the cards of the badge (5 total) so likely should get another? We'll see if I do or not I guess.

EDIT: Ended up getting the other 2 (for 3/5 cards) after a total of 1.5 hours or so.

Edit: Yes, as evident by my growing play time I did eventually make an Epic account JUST to play this game as a friend really wanted me to join him again. Still not happy about how any of the below went down though. And opted to make an actual Epic account to link to the Steam account as I didn't trust whatever pseudo/placeholder account that is generated within this game if you didn't do the linkage yourself...

Edit on 9/18/20:

Steam, you've been prompting me for an update since I've spent many, MANY hours since the one below? Well, here you go!

...RIP Rocket League - you've been a very fun game to pass the time with but can no longer spend time with you because of Epic Games. I'm sure Psyonix got a nice chunk of change for selling out to Epic but this spells the end of our time together, dear Rocket League!

I have MANY bad words to say to Epic, but this is NOT the place for that. Suffice to say, I will NEVER make an account with them and because one HAS to in order to play now...well, like I said above...this is our goodbye.

Bleh...

This has been a rather fun game, but I really don't like the way the developers (or whoever bought them out) are doing with pulling from Steam store to only be on whatever that new one is.

This is more towards the sell out and not the game itself.
