This isn't a game.
It's a thought experiment, metaphorically tailored for creatives/audience alike. What does it even mean to create? If there is no machine, who's to say what is/isn't considered finished? Is the standard for art created by one's self, or ones muse and to what cause? Such ideas are explored by Davey in a more intimate, yet, distant manner (compared to the Stanley Parable). What you see, is not always what you get, and in this case, what you take out of this experience is up to you.
