I feel obligated to write a review for this great game.
In a time filled with an endless amount of amazing indie releases and great AAA games, this game sticks out to me for a few reasons. I've played a handful of extraction shooters and have had a good time, but the majority of them have either felt too competitive, too hardcore, too complicated or just not engaging enough to keep me playing.

Arc Raiders hits all these points so well IMO.

It can absolutely be a competitive game if you want it to be, but at the time time, I have spent several hours doing nothing but peaceful looting (with an occasional interruption).

In regard to how "hardcore" it is, I think they figured out a way to make the losses feel less substantial. If you want to, you can load into a raid with a "free loadout" that has very low tier gear, but it still more than enough to survive with. This allows you to spend time completing missions/workshop upgrades, without worrying about losing your gear. For this, I am very grateful. I honestly think I would have half the hours without this feature.

I don't believe this game is overly complicated, in comparison to some games in this category, mainly Tarkov. Missions are straightforward, the maps are easy to navigate, but intricate. Not much else to say, the game is very easy to understand.

Engagement, the last, arguably most important part. I'll keep it short and sweet and say that this game immediately draws you in. The environments the maps take place on, the cosmetics, the guns, everything about how the game looks just feels unique, polished, and extremely well thought out. The game is suspected to take place in the Italian countryside, and they portray this so well. Art style aside, the games progression system has been really enjoyable for me. Slowly chipping away at your workshops, stash and stats, has been very rewarding.

All in all, I am very excited to see what the future holds for this game. I think Embark has done a great job with the development cycle for The Finals, and I trust them and what they have planned for this game. Do yourself a favor, and explore Topside.

I haven't played much yet, but after 2.5 hours I can say it does feel as goofy and fluid as the last skate game. its missing a lot, but for a beta, I'm not dissapointed at all. I think Nostalgia blinds people a little bit. I agree that the free to play model does ruin the game to a certain degree, but for what it is, its fun. not deserving of mixed reviews IMO. With more content, and (hopefully) a flushed out campaign with some real skaters, this could be a gem.

such a fun game to sink time in to. A community small enough you can actually get on leaderboards, and a super rewarding physics system. Excited to see what the future holds for this gem

57% for $20 is nuts. The game is absolutely not perfect, but in comparison to most $20 car based games on Steam, this game is a great example. Graphics are solid, customization/modifications of cars is great, game is grindy but no more than any other car game. I see a lot of complaints about the AI traffic, personally I think its a refreshing take on traffic. It is predictable and unpredictable just like real traffic, cars use turn signals, and behave how i would expect normal traffic to. The AI voicelines are as bad as the reviews say, but personally I have skipped everything story related. Don't sell cars unless you can afford to lose them, car mods make a substantial difference to performance (specifically handling), Understeer is huge in this game but you can learn its limitations. If you just need a new car game, that is open world, with deep modifications, lots of cars, and unique mechanics, it is worth the $20

Fantastic casual roguelike. Easy to sink hours in to, with more and more content being added. with the developers continuing to add modifiers, upgrades, dome types, etc, the replay-ability continues to grow. If you are looking for competition, their is leaderboards aswell.
