This game has been in my library for 15 years and for some reason it was always stuck in the back of my mind as one of those backlogged games that I wanted to, and definitely would eventually, play.
Well, I finally did, and it's fun.
Works great on Steam Deck too!

Very simple, fairly short, generous with checkpoints. It's nice and cozy. I just don't think that's how the solar system works.
Works on Deck through Proton experimental.

I can't believe this is the only Final Fantasy that I had never replayed.

Controller support for DS5 works well except for menus and inventory which require the mouse. There's very little to do in the inventory anyway so it's ok.
Very not recommended on Steam Deck as the performance was dreadful on the lowest settings, the battery drained 40% in 30 minutes (that's more than 1% a minute) and the system generated so much heat I'm now the leading cause of global warming. The performance was perfectly fine on a PC that's not much more powerful than a Deck so I'm guessing the cause was Proton and not the game itself.
