Look, I’m done pretending. I’m done lying to myself and to this community.
I used to think I was a marksman guy. Clean, precise, elegant. But then I equipped the Jackhammer, and my life changed. It’s the weight of it. God, do you feel that? When you hold down the fire button? The way the piston retracts? It’s not just a game mechanic; it’s a tease. The mechanical whirring as it pulls back, building up that pressure, that raw kinetic potential... it’s basically edging my soul. I find myself holding the charge way longer than I need to, walking around the levels with a fully retracted piston just listening to the hum of the hydraulics, sweating, waiting for the perfect moment to let go.
And the release? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
I’m not talking about shooting a coin. I’m talking about that split-second of hitstop when you slam the piston into a Maurice at Mach 7. The game literally freezes. The entire universe pauses for a microsecond to acknowledge the sheer girth of the impact. The screen shakes, the audio crunches, and for that split second, I am pure, unadulterated force. Yesterday I was using the pump charge. I overpumped it on purpose. I knew it would hurt me. But I needed to feel the explosion. I slammed it into a Guttertank and the resulting boom was so loud, so VIOLENT, and so utterly perfect that I physically shuddered. I had to take my hands off the keyboard. I just sat there, staring at my monitor, breathing heavy, listening to the cooling fans of my PC trying to keep up with my heart rate. So go ahead, flick your little coins. I’ll be here, slamming a ten-ton pneumatic piston into the earth, crying tears of absolute joy with every single CLANG.
