It's alright.

The negatives:
- movement could be less cod-ified
- maps could be bigger
- not enough new maps
- more maps please
- for the love of god, just give us some new maps to play on

Everything else just works imho.

Yesyes, it's light on the gameplay, but the vibe is chef's kiss and the graphics are gorgeous for the price.

Stereotypical anime culture character tropes: a rather distant tsundere, an innocent moe girl and ofc the annoying perv. A main character who is real nuisance in the first few hours of the game. Weird side plotlines that sadly pad out waaaaay over their initial welcome (anything related to Lukako is just hardly bearable tbh) .

So why do I still like this visual novel so much then? The time travel aspect of the story is just extremely well realized. It has so many branching paths and iterations while still managing to feel coherent in its own made up complex rule set... it's impossible to keep myself from getting sucked into the plot. A lot of smaller details and twists aren't even explained in the story itself, but by pure observation and interpretation from the player.

The main traits of the characters presented are perceived as superficial in the first few hours, additional depth is added to them over the course of the game. While some of the earlier moments might feel cringe, the later stuff delivers well on hard hitting drama (for my personal sentiment, at least) ...

Until today still the very best entry of the Flatout series.
Mini games for drunken parties & chaotic destructive arcade racing for lonesome singleplayer sessions.
Is there anything else you could need?

These ducks won't cease quacking with you until you quacked them up, alright?
So stop quacking around and start to play this quacking game already!

Looks gorgeous and runs smooth as butter (140fps with everything on max @ QHD) for me, which wasn't something I'd expect after reading through all the negative reviews.
Mind you, I'm running this on a 3090/13700k/64GB/NVME wombo combo, so your mileage may possibly vary.

Everything else about this game has probably been discussed to death over the years.
Gameplay is just fine - but story, atmosphere and drama is absolute ace in this one.
