Early Access Review
New Cycle is an enjoyable city-building and survival game with a rich set of mechanics that kept me engaged. While the early game was a bit overwhelming with the sheer number of features, once I settled into the gameplay and focused, it became a rewarding experience. The game shows immense potential, feeling almost complete with just a few minor tweaks and adjustments needed.

What I Loved
The auto-save and multiple load instances are standout features. Many survival games lack this kind of flexibility, but New Cycle handles it well. This is particularly helpful in a game where mistakes can lead to challenging situations—it provides a safety net for players without removing the difficulty entirely.

Challenges and Frustrations
Initially, I found the development tree and resource gathering mechanics confusing, especially during the first couple of hours. It was a lot to process, and my decision to increase the game speed added to the chaos. On a second playthrough, I adjusted my approach and found it much more manageable.

Difficulty and Gameplay
I played the Campaign mode for five hours (three hours in Tundra and two in Great Meadow, both on Normal difficulty). The game felt advanced for new players, particularly around Cycle 5, where the challenge ramps up significantly. It’s rewarding but requires patience and strategic planning.

Bugs Encountered
I did notice a few bugs. For example, when Barter appeared, clicking on it sometimes didn’t trigger the exchange modal, which was frustrating.

Overall, New Cycle is a solid game with unique mechanics that survival and city-building fans will enjoy. While there are minor issues to iron out, it’s definitely worth trying, especially if you enjoy a good challenge.
