GameMaker Studio is a great development tool for relatively simple 2D games. Productivity is amazing and pretty easy to understand if you invest a little bit of time. Would not recommend for more involved projects, but for game jams, prototyping and simpler games it is hard to beat.

I just love this game. The beauty, the sense of discovery and adventure, the quirky details everywhere and the unforgiving battles. I suck at this game, but in a good way.
