I wasted $40 on this game, steam had recently allowed refunds so I decided to try this game out, I played for about an hour and decided I didn't like it, I had to go out for a bit before I could refund it and I got back to see that I had six hours of playtime. Aparrently, quitting the game didn't quit the launcher (It had a launcher at the time) and so I was unable to refund it.
I have since gone back to Squad now and again to see if I might enjoy it, and I just never have. It seems like the sort of game that requires a military background to play. It explains nothing except how to shoot and what the buttons do, then shoves you into combat without any preparations. The very devoted core fanbase is all shouting various acronyms while I'm just trying to figure out which way is up, then I would be shot because I couldn't be in a stance inbetween standing up and crouching, the former leaves you incredibly exposed to oncoming fire, the latter preventing you from seeing out of cover. I'm sure this game must make sense to a certain group who have been through irl basic training, but as someone completely new to it, I'm left between writing a disgruntled review, and taking a six week class to explain what everything means.
tl;dr: I'm left wondering why I even keep it installed.
