Early Access Review
This is an attempt to finish and release the game Shardbound which was a pretty good game for it's time. While rough around the edges for early access, I'm starting to see the devs vision and I appreciate what they're going for. One thing to note, a lot of people say the game is pay to win and that's not entirely true. There is a huge advantage to having more cards, but the real way to get cards is the battle pass. Paying 10 toward the battle pass nets you back your investment plus it gets you going on cards. Even if you don't pay the ten, the battle pass still gives you lots of opportunity to build your decks. While I am concerned about the player counts, all and all I'm finding more and more I am having fun with this game.

Iron Harvest is based off of Scythe. This is a pet peeve of mine personally, but Scythe has a 50/50 split between men and women characters. Actually it's slightly more women. Then came the scythe expansions, whenever they added characters they maintained this split. Then they released Scythe expeditions and still there were 50/50 or more women than men.

Then these devs made Iron Harvest and suddenly the heros are not 50/50, they're more like 70/30 with more men. When a game like Scythe keeps doing the same thing it's clear someone is doing something on purpose, but for this game to throw this out they had to go out of their way to change the gender distribution. Create additional male characters and exclude some of the women.

So would not recommend to any gamer who cares about this.

This game is great, it really is. Very polished and very fun. The only problem with it I have is how hard it is. Sometimes the difficulty can be frustrating, others it can be refreshing. As far as a roguelike deckbuilder goes, it has staying power for me and maybe my favorite one. Definitely a good value.

It's hard to imagine Dark Survival which is essentially a battle royal rpg translating into this so well.

This game is an under-rated gem in my view. The game play is simple yet has a lot of depth. While the difficulty steps up, the game never felt unfair. I loved the atmosphere and gameplay and the free dlc was a nice added touch. This game was a real surprise favorite for me.

The game is buggy for online play. Only play it with friends in private game. They have a "ranked" system but it is frustrating because you are -very- likely to lose due to a bug, such as the game telling you you're out of time when you still have time and it isn't even your turn. This literally happened when I was attacked and the game decided my time was up instantly.

If a game doesn't work it shouldn't have ranked play.

Good for playing with friends, terrible for anything else.

Update: I guess they're working on patching the the issues with online bugs. Given that, I'd recommend given it isn't common to find a functional boardgame variant.

I love the Roguelike games like DCSS and such but turn based roguelikes with decent sprites seem to be rare. This one is interesting in that it takes a lot of those concepts while taking some new ideas of its own. Personally I love it and would recommend it to anyone. It is a little easy in the beginning but apparently gets harder as you go. It also gives you the option for perm death or not, all features I love. While not as deep as some roguelikes (nethack for instance) the system is still satisfying to play and with many tactical options that will require juggling placement, skills and consumables.

This isn't an adult game. However everyone seems to have enormous busts. Asumi is made fun of for being lacking in certain assets (flat chested) but even she has easily c cup. This is ridiculously grituitious in my view and while you may not share my view, I found it too distracting to enjoy the story. Just a heads up for anyone would migth feel similarly before you buy.
