Never before have I wanted to applaud a game when the credits roll.
This was the first time.
25 hours of actual play time to get an ending (ending D) with 4.5 hours on the save shows how many times I had to try over and over at certain places to get through this game.
Considering that this was made essentially by 1 person, I think this game is a masterpiece of art. Visuals are kind of rough but perfectly convey what they need to.
If you are OK with the extremely dark and disturbing themes that this game provides, as well as the punishing, unforgiving difficulty, having to rely on almighty luck for success, having to try things over and over just because you had bad luck and nothing more, and are fine with SNES era JRPG-esque gameplay, than god (or gro-goroth) will be salty if u don't buy it, because if you're fine with all that, then this is for you. It's not "dark souls" hard, it's "winning $ at the casino by playing chess where everytime you want to make a move there is a 50% chance some random person (who gives no Fuques whether you win or lose) gets to take over your turn.
The lore and atmosphere of this game is brutal and depressing while being interesting as hell. I never would have thought I would be pinned against a wall and urethreally sounded to death by a spider with a melancholic, humanoid face in a video game, but here we are. It really is hard to dismiss the berserk influence, but there's so much more going on than it just being a Berserk JRPG. There's more creativity here than I've seen in a JRPG since undertale, with a lot more challenge. It's absolutely unhinged and fuqued up but the world needs more creative shxt like this.

Please give Miro your money and buy this game so he can keep making stuff like this.

While a lot of people really don't like this game very much and prefer the second system shock, I had quite a lot of fun playing through this and don't really see why people dislike it so much. Its combat plays like one of the old doom games, but the rest of it is very much a metroidvania. While the game tells you almost nothing about how it works and mission objectives are nearly impossible to figure out on your own (expect to spend a couple mins here and there looking up keypad codes and what the hell to do to advance the story), there is actually quite a bit of satisfaction upon clearing out all the security on a level, or blowing up shodans precious computer nodes, or realizing that you can use a severed head to unlock a retna scanner. The game is very challenging without ever seeming impossible (given you save a lot) and forces you to be conservative of ammo and health restoring items. If you are down with the maze like level design and the (wonderfully) outdated cyberpunk aesthetic, than definately buy this game. If you cant help but compare this to its sequel, than you'll probably complain about the fact that its not very similar. I'd give it a solid 8.5/10
