An utterly fantastic, fun game that was poorly ported. It runs /okay/ on my system (i5 9600k, GTX 2060 super, 16gb 3200 ram, installed on a HDD not SSD) - medium-high graphics net around 60 fps, with dips to 40 in cauldrons and other random places. I've only had 2 crashes in over 30 hours of gameplay, once during a cut scene after around 9 hours of play and a second time after 6 hours when I was closing the game. It should absolutely run better than it does. Devs have stated they're working on fixes, so if you are on the fence or concerned it might not run on your PC then it'd be best to wait until that update. If you have a PS4 and can't wait, buy the game there.

Excluding performance, the game is absolutely stellar. I /only/ have a PS4 because I wanted this game and I was beyond excited when I heard it was getting ported to PC. It has a deep, multi-layered story that genuinely has you hating the antagonist and feeling immense sorrow for the "co-heroes." It's also a refreshing break way from post-apocalypse tropes (like the desert wasteland a la Fallout and Mad Max).

You can tune the difficulty to whatever suits you best - if you're more interested in the narrative and/or struggle with fast paced combat you can select the story or normal difficulties but if you want to be challenged by the robots and humans you encounter you can choose between hard, very hard, and ultra hard (on UH expect to be 1-shot if you don't dodge well). I play on Very Hard and find it both challenging and rewarding.

Combat feels really good. Weapon swapping is pretty simple between the hot wheel (TAB), hot-swap keybinds (1-4), and scroll wheel. Hitting a weapon keybind multiple times will allow you to cycle between ammo types for that weapon or you can use the hot wheel to select the ammo you want. Otherwise selecting a weapon will default to the last used ammo.

You are free to remap controls. I have small hands, so I prefer ESDF for movement. Unfortunately a lot of games aren't designed with accessibility in mind and do not allow for rebinding. HZD is not one of those games. I can ESDF freely!

Although I've played through and completed this game on PS4 (90% of achievements), I'm still having an absolute blast. It's incredibly immersive and I find myself compelled to complete all of the optional side quests / side content. It took 9 hours to leave the starting area and at 31 hours I've just now "finished" the second zone (Nora Homelands). If you're looking for a large, inhabited world similar to what you'd find in an Elder Scrolls game then you're in the right place.
