years ago i wrote an original view that was a bit more positive, but i felt like it was worth updating.

war thunder has always had its quirks and bugs and whatnot but i feel like the devs have bit off more than they can chew with the insane amount of content they roll out. major changes now affect so many vehicles or maps that something always falls through the cracks. high tiers kinda suck and pretty much require spending real money, but i don't feel motivated enough to drop cash when i know im just going to get annoyed every other match, between random server lag and dealing with whatever new power-creeping or broken vehicles i face.
