Early Access Review
Love the ability to paint on anything. I've had some clipping issues and gotten stuck in the environment a couple times but I guess since its Early Access that's fair.
The tips feel weird in some cases, not like IRL. But if they keep working on it I'm sure they'll fix this.
No drips is really odd. I'm hoping this is something they're just working on.
Overall the game feel like it's set to completely surpass Kingspray. Not quite there yet but almost.
Kingspray feels smoother and more responsive to me. But this feels like its set to be something better with a little more work.
If they open up mods and custom maps, fix the tips, make things feel smoother, I can see this being everyone's dream sim.
Would love some ladders and bigger levels.
Giving it a hesitant thumbs up for now. If you're into hitting up walls without getting arrested, this might be just the thing for you. ;)

This game is my drug of choice.
Giant stomping robots with canons on their arms and missiles in their chests.
Tiny tanks that shoot pew-pews at you as you walk up and step on them to save ammo.
Pirates, army's, other mercenaries and loads of money.
Help one side win, get money, then get paid to turn around and kill them with the new guns you bought with their money.
With a couple of critical mods (YAML) this game will never get old for me.
10 out of 10 would stomp on your house again.

Unfortunately 7 Days has changed so much it's not even the game it used to be less than a year ago.
You can ignore the old positive reviews. Those were for a different game.
It's too bad really, this was one of the best zombie games around.
Slowly, over time it's become... that thing that Tetsuo turns into at the end of Akira.

Started off confused and realized quickly that confused is the best way to start this game.
What a wild ride. This game is 100% exploration, discovery and mystery delivered in equal parts.
If you aren't hooked in the first 30 minutes, you will be in the next 30.
Highly recommended for people who like exploration games with some puzzles and problem solving.

[UPDATE]
The newest update claims to fix most of the problems but has apparently added new ones.
Still can't recommend.

[Original]Updates continue to break the game. Worked great when i first bought it.
Played the heck out of it. Recently, though cards are broken, Ai is capable of cheating (stealing plants & microbes even with protected habitats).
It's really too bad, I love this game.

Hopefully they'll fix it, until then I hold on to your cash.

Aside from the random audio levels and weird morphing graphic glitches (remastered Huh?). The game breaker is the completely bugged final boss. Invisible kill walls make it almost impossible to know where to go. Just randomly die while taking cover.
What a gross cash grab.
Save your cash and get the Maximum edition.

How is this STILL one of the best racing experiences I've ever had?
It's almost 20 years old and it still dominates all of the other games that have come after it by a long shot.
Even the blatant knock offs AND the successors.
Graphics are dated, story is.. non existent, characters are cheese.
And STILL it just stomps the crap out of every other arcade racer.
You get turbo by smashing the crap out of the other cars, more turbo means go faster means smash harder.
More damage and better placing means more money to buy better parts to do more damage.
It's a toxic cycle that you hope never ends.
If you haven't played it yet, at this price you're just being silly.

This game deserves a proper remaster.

I usually judge games based on how willing I am to see them through to the end.
Psychonauts, Borderlands 2, Little Nightmares, etc.
They have to have good pacing, an interesting story or scenario, etc.
Recently I added The Forest and Subnautica to that list but with Subnautica, I beat it... then started it again.

I'm not going to write some long drawn out in-depth review.
The game still has glitches, some funny, some annoying but so far none have been game breaking for me.

Everything from the atmosphere to the graphics and especially the sound design fits together really well.
The sound design is one of the strongest points here since it helps the pacing in a way I haven't seen before.

The game starts off as exciting but ultimately safe, there are a few small dangers but nothing you dont feel equipped to deal with and no one shot kills. But eventually you are forced to go further and further from the safety of your life pod in the shallows and the further you go the more fantastic and simultaneously scary the environment becomes.
The game makes sure that you have visited every part of the planet in order to beat the game, and you will likely come across everything the game has to offer without it ever feeling contrived or forced.

Everytime you make a step forward in advancing, it has a huge payoff, bigger better vehicles don't just feel like small upgrades, they feel like milestones. It's really exciting. Kinda like the feeling you'd get in some of the old school games when you'd finally beat a boss character after several tries and bordering the point of exhaustion.
Nothing takes a ton of materials, so it's never a grind fest, but some of the materials are really difficult to get, so... less grind, more risk.

There are a few of subplots that are interesting, data sheets on all of the life in the game, well thought out tools, habitat pieces and even the materials make sense when you concider the entire game.
It's not minecraft or any other survival crafting game where you spend most of your time messing around building stuff (though you could do that if you wanted).
Some creatures have more than just a kill response, and if you pay attention you can learn how to exploit them for resources.

For a Unity engine game it's surprisingly deep and well put together.
Definitely one of my new favorites.

Recommend for teh Sandbox, the story mode is "Meh" so far.

Bought this shortly after it was released in Early acceess and even in it's early stage it was clear to see that the sandbox mode was going to be awesome.

Since then the sandbox has been tweaked and tweaked too damn near perfect.
It's a lonely, cold, unforgiving wilderness where everything you do depends on your ability to scavenge, plan and learn.
You can spend days in one section of the map just hunting, foraging and setting up a camp in some abandoned shack/cabin/home/cave you might find.

You are not an overpowered high moutain rescue specialist or some kind of ultimate marksman commando, you're just a person, who is lost in a freezing wilderness.

Animals are equally hungry and desperate to survive which, makes perfect sense to me. However it should be noted that the wolves are usually the biggest point of contention here as they can be very aggressive. Given the environmental situations in the game it gfeels logical to me that a pack hunting animal in a wilderness were food is scarce would, tend to be aggressive towards other animals that could be potential prey.
So there are no zombies, but... there are still monsters.

The graphics are simple but beautiful and I feel like they really work, artistic but still immersive.

I still feel like it could be tweaked in some areas but after coming back to it after so long and seeing how much has been changed since the early, early release, it's night and day and it's a lot of fun to revisit the game since everything feels new. New features like mapping and multi-layering clothes for warmth. Just, a lot of cool additions and things that make sense.

Again, if you're hoping to get a great story out of it... meh. They've only finished the first episode but if this is what we should expect, I'm not excited for the rest. I'll reserve my opinion till they're done but man, it's been a long time coming and if this is their best... well.

BUT, that sandbox survival mode is one of my favorites so far.
If it goes on sale for $20 or less I'd say it's definitely worth picking up.
Else I'd wait till they are done with the story and the rest of the tweaks before thinking about paying full price.

See that Cyan has released a new game.
Pee myself.
Buy game.
Start playing game, see graphics and pee myself again.
Start wandering around, clicking things, pulling levers trying doors.
Things happen.
Find guy with crappy southern accent, get mission.
Figure out mission.
Get next mission.
Next mission is harder, lots of puzzles and clues are tough.
Debate looking online, remember that this is a Cyan game and walkthroughs are for sissies.
Get pen and paper, start taking notes, writing down possible answers, scribling pictures.
Finally figure out puzzles and codes, feel like a muthagrubbin BOSS!
Finally get under weird tree, jaw drops, realize this game is just starting.
Look at clock, 1 am and I'm 9 hours in.
Love Cyan.
