I would definitely recommend this game! It sucked me in on day one and I played it the entire day. That's now 7 years ago, I've added 1000 hours of play time, and I'm still learning and having fun! What I enjoy is that there's a lot variation in play-styles, and you can customize the game-play to your style or mood by simply playing differently or using one of the many amazing mods! Some of the mods, such as Space Exploration, are so expansive and well polished that they can almost be seen as official expansions of the game (some are even made by the game's developers!). As a software developer I also enjoy the other aspects of the game, like writing mods myself and interacting with other players with similar interests. It has even improved skills that has transferred back into my day job.

The only thing that I can warn about is this game taking over your life. It's a constant battle to spend less hours playing this game and do other things.
