Mediocre game at best.

Positives:
Beautiful world and aesthetic, truly feels like a "New World".
Interesting crafting and harvesting system.
Territory warfare is a true sandbox and one of the games strongest features in my opinion. The idea of taking over towns to control a region all through player interaction is a neat idea.

Negatives:
Questing and levelling are incredibly dull and lifeless (go to (copy pasted town) and kill X (copy pasted enemies) or go to (copy pasted town) and loot X chests are the vast majority of quests in NW).
PvP quests are literally the exact same three quests repeated over and over again with them always taking you to some secluded part of the map and having you wait there for X amount of time and collecting X amount of materials.
Combat system is an interesting idea with huge potential but poorly executed (d-syncs, bar swap delays, combat can feel very slow and clunky due to an absence of animation cancelling).
PvP battle scaling is abysmal with the vast majority of fights being determined by level rather than skill.
Game can feel like a running simulator as you go from one mindless quest to the other.

I can see New World being an increasingly better game over time however as it stands now I cannot recommend it.

Very solid for a £15 500mb game.
