Positives
A fun extraction game on the casual side (compared to an extraction game like Tarkov or Delta Force) however the exploration, progression, and PVP are sincerly a lot of fun. I love the skill system and, above all, this game is a blast to play with friends - especially with proximity chat turned on. The emergent gameplay that arises from interactions with other players really makes this game so much fun and leads some really great moments.

Feedback
I'd personally like to see more weapons, a more complex weapon mod system, more character progression, and quests that include a little more lore or feel more meaningful.

Verdict
8/10 - I really enjoy this game for what it is and with proximity chat on I've had 10/10 game moments.

This game is an extension of the world/characters/mechanics of Town of Salem but in the style of the game "Among Us." The customisation for matches is great and the voice chat can be a lot of fun, inspiring some great emergent gameplay. This game was worth every dollar I spent (it is now free-to-play) however the past couple years, when I spontaneously decide to play, there are never any players online or lobbies open. So unless you can find a crew on to play via Discord or something, it's gonna be tough.

I wish the game had players!

A fun social game inspired by Werewolf/Mafia.

This is essentially the same game as Town of Salem 2 but with different characters/roles & cosmetics. At the time of writing, the number of active players for this game is less than TOS2. However, it is much easier to get into a classic game (better for beginners) than in TOS2. TOS2 really only has active games for an all/any mode which is for advanced play.

If you haven't played Town of Salem, I definitely recommend this version over TOS2. Also, it's worth noting, I've *never* been able to find a game for the coven DLC I purchased. So, unless you can get players for it, I wouldn't recommend the DLC.

A fun social game inspired by Werewolf/Mafia.

It's been a few years since I played the first iteration of this game (Town of Salem.) Both are very similar but have many differences in terms of minor mechanics/customization. From a casual player's perspective, they are essentially the same game and I personally don't understand what content in TOS2 could have just been expanded in TOS1.

At the time of writing, the "all/any" roles game mode is the easiest to start playing quickly - however - this game mode is not beginner friendly. Classic or custom games either take very long to queue up (10+ minutes) or require organising w/ friends. This is too bad but it's likely the result of a lower player base. Conversely, for TOS1, the classic game mode is the fastest to jump into and IMO is the best for new players.

To summarize: Play TOS1 on classic if you've never played the game before - and - play TOS2 on all/any if you want some crazy mixup advanced play.

Decent f2p MMO reminiscent of BDO and Lost Ark. I personally don't spend $ on these types of games and, therefore, the grind needs to be entertaining (which so far it is.) My opinion might change when I've more hours logged.

I like Rimworld, this game scratches the same itch. It may take longer to die, but the difficulty is impressive. I'm a fan :)

A fun old school style RPG that doesn't hold your hand. Glad folks are still making games like this.

Cypher is essentially a puzzle game in which the player learns about the history and techniques of cryptography. This game is not a cryptography-breaker or hacking simulator, you'll learn a brief introduction to a real-world discipline. This game also differs from other (non-simulator and mostly logic based) puzzle games like "Portal" in that the challenges presented aren't purely created from the author's own puzzle-based language.

While the Cypher experience is well created as the player walking through a 3D environment consisting of a kind of museum, the knowledge within is something that can be gained by reading books or via various web-pages online. A similar game: "Institute for Higher Knowledge" is completely web-based and it's possible a version of Cypher could have been web-based as well. I bring this up for those expecting a more conventional gaming experience from their purchase here on Steam.

Otherwise, for the non-sale price of $4.99, I'd say this game is well done and beautiful in its simplicity.

Rating: 7/10
