A contender for best exfil shooter in the space. For the record, I have ~5000 hours in tarkov and ~2000 in Hunt Showdown, few hundred in Arc. I've been with those first two since their very early days, and I've played a lot of the washouts of the genre, your Marauders', DMZs, etc. Marathon has a very strong identity and aesthetic, and knows what it's about. It is a PVP centric exfil shooter, and its intended to be played like a competitive shooter. It handles super crisp, feels great to play, and they balanced the economy well enough to be meaningful imo. Really good stuff

Very engaging with a good mix of resource pieces and aesthetic ones, and dismantling refunding 100% of the resources is genius and allows frequent recalibration and retooling of your settlement. Pleasant aesthetics and theme as well.

Very fun and novel climbing system, but its really made with the ways you can modulate the environment by throwing rebar and driving pitons for handholds. The meat horror elements are promising so far as well!

Very satisfying movement and momentum mechanics, will be very fun with some more environs and challenges to the levels, presumably a given on 1.0 release!

Incredible puzzle game, as usual for these devs. Theyre absolutely experts at taking familiar puzzle game bones and innovating around them. Also an intensely polished game, tightly written, and well presented. If you liked the mechanics of Into The Breach, you'll find this clicks easily; It was a focus on positioning, turn order, secondary objectives, and team synergy

You might like it if you haven't played the first or didn't like it. If you played and liked the first you'll just find yourself asking why they changed x, why isn't y like this. And most of those changes are for the worse in my opinion. It's way more random, less fair, and less fun. No way to equip characters with trinkets before a run to target a certain build, and all the choice has been sanded off. Back to DD1 if I get the craving again I guess :/

Absolutely entrancing game.

Very compelling and engaging game! Shooting and manipulating your gun feels and sounds good. I enjoy the stress of managing looting and defending yourself, it does a good job of keeping you from becoming complacent. Learning the various game systems and areas yourself is also extremely rewarding. Highly recommend giving it a go.

This game doesn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boot lmao, tried every single fix online, reinstalled to an SSD, still just crashes 5 seconds into the little opening cinematic.
