Good game, fun and can teach you a good deal about programming.

The drawback is in the community. While there are some good people, there are also a lot of regulars who are just self-righteous or closed-minded about the game, its features, or about helping others who are trying to learn. Got an opinion or suggestion that disagrees with theirs? You are unwelcome.

Enjoy the game, but avoid the toxic regulars.

I have 661.5 hrs logged, and I still haven't found the last zombies to kill to finish this mission.

It has its flaws, and occasional bugs, but it is still among the best in post-apocalyptic multiplayer. It still has a sizeable player base many years later and it sees regular updates and free expansions. Among these are some big hits (Wastelanders) and a few near misses (Custom Worlds) that at least do not break the core game and may be, and are, ignored. And you have to give credit that nothing in the shop is pay-to-win, and that all players can earn Atoms by only playing the game so that they can at least get some of the things they may want without paying any more real money.

I just passed the 1000 hours mark. I find myself playing for a couple of months and then pausing my play for awhile, but then eventually diving right back in every six to nine months or so just to experience Appalachia again with its newest content.
