Writing a short review - I binged this whole game in 4hrs during the eve of Chinese New Year. These are my personal opinions and, subjective as reviews are, may be different for others.

The Good:
This game is scary. There were segments that filled me with an ice-cold chill, fear that grips the heart and freezes the fingers, to the point where I hit the "pause" button and went to YouTube to play some rock music to get some courage. The game brilliantly creates this visceral fear during certain scenes, as a good horror game does.
Not just the horror, but the relationships of the various characters were well-fleshed out. Each one has their own charm, and I found myself wanting to know more about them.

The Bad:
The endings left me wanting. The true end gave me a feeling of, "Huh, so we failed? So everything we did was for nothing, because we were already a cartridge?" And I get that it's to create this bleak, depressing effect, an ending where nothing is resolved. Some media forms succeed with such an end, but for me, it didn't. I wanted a conclusion that was satisfactory after all the bs that Crazy Mita puts the player through, after all the wholesome, interesting characters we were shown, endings where we bond with Kind Mita, or Sleepy Mita, or Mila, or even short-haired Mita who guides us with the blackboard. The characters were so interesting that, when the ending gave no proper conclusion to them, I felt like something was missing. As a comparison, it's like playing DDLC without the true ending complete.

Despite my dissatisfactions, overall, I still think it's a great game - excellent in the horror aspect and memorable characters. I'd recommend fans of DDLC to give this one a try.

I'm writing this about 2 days after I've finished it, but the memories and experience still linger in my head as if I just went through them. The game is beautiful and soul-crushing, It's truly one of the best games I've ever played in my life so far. Those of you guys that stop halfway, trust me, persevere through to the end - definitely worth the build-up.
