Launch to season two it sucked, but putting aside the memes and EA hate circlejerk- this review isn't about the past game, it's about its current form. True the specialists are not "true battlefield" but there's still some class identity and the specialists add variety and a deeper element. There's also the portal gamemode where you have the option to play more of a "true battlefield." I wouldn't say it's worth $60 currently, but definitely a good value on sale and for that reason I would recommend it. Gun play feels good, maps and their destruction are awesome, 64v64 is utter (fun) chaos. If this game released today in its current state instead of the trainwreck of a launch that did happen I think the reviews would tell an entirely different story.

Has tons of promise that outweighs its bugs or performance issues. Look forward to watching it grow.

Great game already with a lot of promise. If you like minecraft, exploring, building, survival, etc. you'll love this.

I dont understand all the bad reviews of people whining about microtransactions. The developers are transparent about it (there's a FAQ by them) and everything so far is purely reskins, emote dances or some light cosmetic additions. If that's all it takes to keep updating this game for years to come it's no big deal. It's not like EA's pay to win items or other's lootboxes, and there's already so much you can craft and make cosmetically that you won't run out of options if you don't choose to buy more- because no one is forcing you. It's more like Planet Coaster's paid DLC. Plus you get a lot of credits when you purchase the game.

For $12 it's a steal and I don't feel shorted by anything that's in the game shop.

Spent 2 hours and a quarter of my starting money only making an entrance for my barren park, and I felt accomplished. The amount of detail you can put into buildings and scenery is truly insane and only limited by your imagination.

My only gripe so far is that the variety of rides and shops are kind of limited even fully researched, but I imagine that the wonderful people at Frontier will be adding more and more content later that will only improve on an already great game. There's a heck of a lot do in the meantime however.
