It's necessary to point out that there is an ongoing movement to review bomb this game over disgruntlement related to drama and poor behaviour. It should go without saying that taking your frustrations out through the reviews is a petty thing to be doing. Some recent reviews try to hide this in more generalised frustrations with the game, but you can find a common thread among them.

I understand I don't have the hours logged, there is a web-version as mentioned that I have spent more time with.

All that being said, this game is a free-to-play idle game. With that comes microtransactions not uncommon or exceptional by any means when stacked against any of the many games in a similar position. This game is still fun and engaging for what an idle game can be. The graphics are warm and fun, and each time I check in there's always enough to keep me busy until I'm done playing.

The community in my experience has always been warm and welcoming, but with the Steam release and the influx of players because of, naturally there's a risk for more ripples in the pond. The moderation team both in-game and through Discord are active and open to prompt communication and resolutions.

There's a number of reviews saying to play Melvor Idle, without a consideration that perhaps some of the players here might not be in a position to buy a game and are looking for a free alternative. The review section for a free game isn't the place to market a paid game, this is an example of the poor behaviour and disgruntlement you can weed out in the review bombing.

If you're here, give the game a chance. It's free, the people are friendly, and yes there are microtransactions but those are in most of our free options these days regardless. If you don't enjoy the game or the community, you've lost nothing but a small bit of your time. Plus cows... moomoo, hello!? I do hope you enjoy it though! :)
