it's the same waves and spawns every time ... but still .. 30 hours in and i can only get just about 400 seconds in . i want to dig deeper. i want to reach 500 seconds.. maybe one of the most addicting games ever. you will get destroyed by each new enemy you come across, but once you learn how to deal with them they become nothing more than just a little fly to swat .. you will reach a flow state you have never felt before.. i have returned to this game on and off since launch and it hasn't aged a day .. please try it

really really nice remaster, my only complaint is that there seems to be a weird rim lighting applied to all of the entities that doesn't really fit , other than that it runs well and i've had no issues so far :)

The fidelity is impressive but it entirely misses the mark when it comes to the atmosphere and general darkness of half-life 2. The believability is lost and drowned out by super saturated neon glowing lights that illuminate every room. It lacks subtlety, misses the mark when it comes to art direction purely because of the lighting and is designed purely for graphical spectacle. This could be one of the most realistic / believable looking video games of all time if they just toned down the lighting ..

If you're just here to look at pretty lights and high quality models and textures, you might like it, If you're a die hard half-life fan and care about it's atmosphere I can't recommend it yet..

it runs pretty poorly and im playing in a 3080ti.. frame generation looks smoother (120fps) but makes the input lag even worse than it already was .. seems like a pretty cool game but not sure i can recommend until there has been heavy optimisation

edit: i played the game with the latest nvidia graphics drivers

i always find myself forgetting about this game and stopping playing but the open ended quests and the beautiful world and the interactions everywhere always eventually pull me right back in . the only other first person rpg i've been engrossed in is fallout new vegas and in my eyes that game still doesnt hold a candle to this one.

if you play rpgs, or maybe even if you don't, you should try this game. maybe buy it on sale if you're on the fence.

absolutely the most immersive stealth game of all time as long as u install t2fix. the fan missions give this game infinite worth, so much content... this game goes on sale for $1 fairly often . i think u should buy it.

this game has an absolutely wonderful fluid parkour system completely ruined by a poorly designed open world that actively works against your creativity and knowledge of the mechanics. so many missed opportunities in the level design. the map is made in a way that forces you through the same exact routes over and over and over again ... if you can turn a bit of a blind eye to the terrible art direction and gentrification of the style and atmosphere of mirror's edge 1, it's really promising for the first 3 hours.. but then you start visiting areas that you've already been to and it becomes a slog.

the melee combat is actually awesome, there's a mechanic that lets you choose which way you hit enemies, you can use this to push them off ledges, over rails and into each other, there are so many options for approaching enemies. the sound design is also really really lovely too and tickles my ears :)

if you could actually walk on the ground and go anywhere in this huge sprawling city, it might have actually been really cool .. but the map is designed to keep you on the rooftops. pretty much all the tall structures are only climbable from one side. and every block is only accessible by a single bridge. there is no opportunity for creativity because usually every point of interest only has one point of access. i think the level design is flawed because maybe when they were playtesting the game they left the runner's vision mode on (on by default) which draws a giant red line where you are supposed to go.

the gameplay relies heavily on padding - there are races with extremely tight timers to make you lose when you're only 2ft away from your destination. they make you play the entire race from the start, and you usually also have to listen to the world's most annoying dialogue every single time you fail. the generic ubisoft open world tower mechanic is present in this game too, as well as a bunch of other race types that all work pretty much the same and should all just be the same thing.

the story is not engaging in the slightest and the mirror's edge atmosphere and art style is lost with giant flashy screens, loud noise, constant talking and random modern decor everywhere. there is no time to take in the atmosphere because you become blind to it's constant flashing in your face.

i did not finish this game and i don't think i ever will.. the movement, combat and sound design are a step up from the first game but almost everything else is a joke in comparison
