Early Access Review
This idiotic game is very funny. They somehow managed to make it a strategy game although everything is pseudo-random. You actually have to plan ahead and think about army composition and placement. The game is currently in early access so obviously not everything is polished but I had no crashes or game breaking bugs (I played on Linux).

This is an overly complex game.
It is overwhelming with content and features, but not in the way Witcher or Titan Quest are, it abounds in mechanics. There are many classes and even if you choose an initial one, it is more for lore and appearance, in reality you can then assign points to any class you want and get their skills. You can end up with many thousands of combinations.
For the first 10 hours of gameplay I constantly found new mechanics, spells have spells that affect them, the spell menu has tabs that have tabs, there is a sort of spell stack and some meta-spell system I didn't even bother to understand.
Because of all this the game feels a bit slow, there is A LOT of strategy involved, more than with your average RPG/ARPG like Diablo, Dragon Age, Dungeon Siege etc. I can't compare it to anything I've played. It is technically great, they did an excelent job with the UI, to have so many features in a game and still keep a small footprint on the interface is impressive. The game overall is very polished and nice - probably best quality I've seen from a game sponsored on Kickstarter.
Still, it is not fun enough to make me want to dedicate 60+ hours (and it takes double that to actually finish it). If you feel the same as me and are in for the story of a game, then I recommend play in Story mode.
Thumbs up for all the work and dedication 👍👍

Nice game, the visuals and the music are very good. The gameplay is ok. It has many original features regarding inventory management, this is a dungeon crawler with a serious economy side.

Later edit:
This is a game anyone who likes space sims should try. I initially downvoted because of a technical problem that was not actually related to the game. The savegame cloud sync for Linux and Windows are separeted, you will have a different savegame for each platform. I did not know about this when I complained about the game but I wrote about it in the community hub of the game and the developer explained it. This is a big plus for me. All my savegames are fine, I leave my old comment below for completeness.

I will give this game a negative review because after uninstalling and reinstalling the game all my progress was lost, even if the game is cloud synced. I played the game for 20 hours and it was enjoyable although it gets a bit tedious. I really wanted to finish the main story, but the game is actually not good enough to make me have a second run just to attempt to finish the story. I have already seen most of the content and I don't feel a second run is worth my time.
The visuals are good, the control is great, the content variety is decent, the AI is so-and-so, story is not great. Overall a decent game that was ruined for me by a single technical problem.

Better than it looks. If you played the board game Munchkin this is sometimes like a GIF of that. Fun game.

This is an amazing game. It has the best story of any game I played, better than Portal games in my opinion. The puzzels, the voiceover, the music and the levels are all great. The story however is truly amazing and inspiring, especially if you like philosophy.

You might want to check a gameplay or read the community discussions on motion sickness as you might have a problem of that nature in the beginning. The game runs great on low spec hardware - intel 4400hd, ubuntu.

Kingdom: Classic game fits very well in the "hidden gem" category. Very addictive, simple and fun design, don't judge by apparences. Learning how to play is part of the game and it makes it more interesting. This game is proof that you don't need ridiculous amounts of money and human work to make a good game.
