I got into Splitgate from my next-door neighbor. He let me play on his PS4 when it went viral. After that, I kind of just stopped playing. Late 2023 (or early 2024), I started playing it again and didn't have issues when finding a match (in Casual. Never been in a ranked match). Even with Splitgate 2 on the horizon, this is worth playing, and I think it will still be worth playing after the release of SG2 just for a basis if you're into the sequel. The skill ceiling of this game is extremely high, and it all has to do with the portals. There are clips of people abusing these portals with people complaining about how OP the portals are. All I have to say is either don't play or get gud.

It requires a decent amount of reaction ability to have fun. For $3(?) it's definitely worth it for the music and community.

If your're up for the grind, and if you like to rage, this game is for you.
