A new standard for interactive storytelling. Great cast. Great writing. Great performance. I can't wait for more titles like this!

About 25 hours in now and loving every minute of it. Yeah it's buggy at times, but mostly cosmetic glitches or things that make me laugh. I haven't encountered anything game breaking yet and I'm confident these will be worked out in time.

If you want the full experience though, you'll want a 3070 or 3080. It's pretty CPU intensive as well as my friend discovered, that with a 3070, a 6th gen i5 wont cut it and left him with a stuttery mess until he upgraded to a Ryzen 3700x.

Updated Review:
Decided to give this game another shot with the Single Player mode and some mods installed. Such a nicer experience and am really enjoying the game again. I've tuned the rates so there's not much of a grind feeling, but there's still a point to going out and doing things. Playing single player has allowed me to go out and try some of the aspects of the game I missed out on when playing on the official servers.

All in all it's a great survival game experience if you stay off of official servers.

OLD Review Below:
I've got a couple hundred hours on this game and have a very hard time recommending it. The concept itself is great and I love this style of game, however this game is among the grindiest I have ever played. I'm not against resource gathering, but you spend a disproportionate ammount of time grinding vs building/playing. Let's not even get into some of the tame times/breeding. You need someone babysitting what you want to tame for hours and hours. I have no idea how people play this on official servers. I had to play on a private server with gather rates increased and taming time reduced just to make it bearable.

On top of this, the game is an unoptimized buggy mess. You'll need a beat of a rig to play this with decent graphics and a stable framerate, but that doesn't matter anyways, as you'll need to set your graphics as low as possible to not give others an advantage in PVP. Also the only game I've seen eat up over 26GB of RAM on a regular basis.

It has potential, but it feels like it's entire time in early access never addressed any of the performance or balance issues. The fact that the developers keep trying to ham fist paid DLC while the game is in a far from finsihed state is the nail in the coffin.

Felt I needed to chime in on this one. There has been a lot of negative reviews saying that the game runs poorly.

I'm sure that some people are having issues, but I wanted to share that on my i5-3570K and GTX 970 I'm running at 1920x1080 with settings maxed at a solid 60FPS.

It's a great game for what it is. I know people are expecting a AAA masterpiece from this, but this is basically an Indy game that got cataplulted in popularity and trampled by the hype train.

PROS:
Beautiful worlds
Exploration

CONS:
Repetitive gameplay
Simplistic flight controls (can't use my joystick!)
