I'd give a neutral review if I could. The game is fun enough and I love the nostalgic aesthetic. But if you're looking for a rally game that runs on low-power systems and isn't a hardcore sim, there's nothing this game does that Rush Rally 3 doesn't do much better. If the (slightly) more realistic handling of Rush Rally doesn't put you off, I'd pick that one instead.

Mixed bag. Really fun combat - the 6DOF movement is fun, the weapons feel good and varied, and the enemies are great in design and behavior. But the roguelite elements are very weak and bare-bones. You can't really make a build - it's just different combinations of weapons with a small number of simplistic upgrades. It feels more like a roguelite mode that was tacked on to a level-based FPS instead of a true roguelite experience.

Early Access Review
What you see is what you get, just an overall really good arcade-style game - kind of like a scaled down nova drift. Already worth the money despite still being in early access.

When I first saw this game, it looked right up my alley. But I knew Paradox games had a reputation for being really hard to learn, so I wasn't sure I could get over the learning curve. If you're like me, buy this game. It's way easier to learn than it looks, and it thoroughly delivers on all its gameplay promises. Nearly infinite replay value, even compared to the Civilization series. This is one of those games where even "losing" is fun.

I would definitely recommend buying this game with the Utopia DLC (in a bundle, if available). Utopia goes further toward making the game feel complete than any other expansion.

This is a relatively simple RTS that derives its complexity through random traits for your generals and random layouts/enemy threats for the islands you progress through.

It has just enough depth that multiple playthroughs are worth it (though I've only won one of them) but not so much depth that you get lost trying to figure out the basics. If you've always been into the concept of RTS games but found them too complicated in practice, you'll enjoy this game like I did.

A game where you pilot and customize the hell out of a huge, extremely customizable mech feels right up my alley, and the game looked cool. But I'm not the biggest fan of Fromsoft games and had never played anything else from the Armored Core series, so I was hesitant to pick this up.

At this point, I'm about halfway through and I absolutely love the game. Everything - customizing mechs, 1v1 arena matches, fighting several smaller enemies or colossal bosses, even just playing robo-dress-up in the paint menu - is just so fun. Even when I get my ass handed to me by a boss, flying around shooting missiles and lasers was fun enough that I'm happy to try again. So if the first paragraph describes you, you'll probably like the game too.

Controls can take some getting used to, though. I found aiming with a controller to be a pain (the default sensitivity is too low, but even then I wasn't feeling it) so I switched to keyboard/mouse. Make sure you play around with the keybindings/control layouts to find what's most comfortable.

If an immersive sim roguelite sounds at all interesting to you, give this game a chance. It's got more depth than meets the eye and even failure is fun. One cool feature is that you get to make your own classes.

Early Access Review
I'm a huge roguelite fan and have played and loved classics like FTL and Slay the Spire. This game looked interesting to me for that reason, but as someone who never really played Peggle, I wasn't sure about the core gameplay loop. I ended up loving it since it had all the things that make rougelites fun in a relatively casual package. If the Peggle-based gameplay looks even kind of interesting to you, I'd recommend this game.

Success in a given level depends on your ability to come up with creative ideas, yes. But it also heavily depends on your ability to navigate jank platforming and aiming mechanics. A terrible idea for tackling a level can manage to work because of the jank, and a brilliant idea can fail because of the jank. imo, the execution and mechanics don't feel good enough to produce an experience that's satisfying regardless of success. It's not that it's difficult, just that it hasn't been fun to play.

As a fan of puzzle platformers and roguelites, I thought this was right up my alley. But it lacks the precision I like in puzzle platformers (i.e. once you discover/develop a solution, execution isn't much of a barrier - your brilliant plan won't be thwarted by awkward jumping or stiff aiming). And it lacks the joy in execution I associate with rougelites (i.e. the gameplay feels so good that even losing is fun). I love this game as an experiment and commend the developer, but if your preferences are like mine, you should probably skip this game.

I literally have only 1 complaint. This game has by far the worst UI I've ever seen in an otherwise good game. Unintuitive in-game menus, a main menu that wastes most of its space, numbers that are entirely unlabeled or otherwise opaque, and tooltips/stats that frequently disappear due to what I hope is a bug.

With that out of the way, everything else about this game is absolutely fantastic. It's a tight, skill-based, addictive experience that I see myself putting 900 more hours into if the sequel doesn't come out soon enough. Solid visuals, superb sound, and the gameplay feels even better than it looks based on the trailers. It's a combination of cerebral and fast-paced that massages my brain and feels fun even when you lose.

Difficulty is high even for the genre, but also probably more fair than all the harder rougelites I've played. There are a lot of randomized elements, but once you get used to the mechanics, RNG doesn't swing the difficulty too much. Way better balancing compared to another great game, Enter the Gungeon, where RNG always HEAVILY affects how hard the run is.

If the gameplay looks fun and you enjoy its subgenres, this is a must-play
